And why should an adult child be required to do anything to back their parent's views?

The answer to your question is, no, not most of them. But, my Senator from Virginia, Jim Webb, has a son that is in the Marines and in Iraq.

The problem is that you can't force your adult 'child' to join the military, even if you are a Senator or a Congressman. We have an all volunteer force, as you know.

There has been a lot of talk about just this subject, and a lot of people think there is a great amount of shame in the fact that our leaders haven't served their country.

Some do, and some don't. Just as Bush's kids are NOT required to join the military and fight to the war, neither does the kids of anyone in Congress. The military is 100% voluntary.

You need to pay attention!

The Hon. Senator Tim Johnson of the State of South Dakota had a son serving in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division.

You should however reconsider voting for those to squeamish or privileged to allow their children to serve their country. I guess good parenting and a real value system show through when we examine our children!

Well, let's see what we can make of this statement/question. Not very good spelling or grammar, but then, mine isn't all that great either. To answer your question, it's not a list they post somewhere so everyone can go look at it. Our military is all volunteer, so it stands to reason, that the people stationed all over the world on behalf of the United States are volunteers. The odds of some of them being Senators or Congressmens' offspring are pretty good I would think. Is there another question you'd like to ask about this?
