depends on the child/ on average girls will be ready around 2 and a half boys not til 3 or later

When your child is ready they will generally let you know. If he/she recognizes when they are wet or have soiled their diaper then that is a good sign they might be ready. If they know when they need to go potty is another good sign as well. Just follow your childs clues, dont pressure them, they will let you know as soon as they are ready by giving you clues such as what I have stated here.

For girls, start at 18 mos, for boys 2 years. However, the "start" depends upon their readiness and understanding.

start about 2 years old. girls will learn faster in general.
