find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

When you're not used to exercising, you do get sore at first. The more you do it, the less sore you get, until you can do it with ease. Keep at it, build up slowly and you'll soon see and feel a difference. But DON'T starve yourself! Eat 3 healthy, balanced meals a day to keep your metabolism working and find some exercise you enjoy. Try walking or swimming.

Good luck!

Hunny, you'll destroy your metabolism by starving yourself. Not to mention at your age you still have some growing to do so any deficiencies will be harmful.

Eat four to six small meals a day. Focus on fresh, raw produce. Avoid condiments if you can as they are unnecessary and simply added calories. Have lean small portions of white meat like fish or boiled chicken breasts. Work the food you love into your diet in small portions or find healthy alternatives. Don't deprive yourself but remember to use moderation.

You'll have to exercise to see real results.

wow, alot of these answers are so poor. anyways, im in the military and ive seen people double your size come out of basic training thin as a rail. what you want to do is cardio work outs and other work outs that do not use weights. you want to use your body weight. turn fat into muscle(dont worry, you wont have manly arms, they'll be nice and defined). when you wake up, before you even eat, do stretches. then do 10 pushups and 20 sit ups(these numbers are very low because you're new to working out and are a female). then go eat and do whatever you have to do. every hour, on the hour, try to knock out another 10 pushups and 20 sit ups. at night, stretch again and go for a light jog at first for about 3 minutes, moving your pace up to a mix between a jog and a nice steady run. run atleast half a mile, no less. you want to work your way up to a mile- mile and a half.

when you can, also work your way up in pushups and sit ups, knocking them out whenever you want. you will lose a lot of excess body fat and get nice toned arms, legs, abs etc. this can happen in less then 4 weeks, if you keep up with it every night(besides the run, do it every other day. AND DONT FORGET TO STRETCH BEFORE WORKING OUT!).

and dont tell me 'i dont want to work out because ill be sore'... what do you want to do, magically lose weight? hell, im thin and its hard for me to gain weight. i cant just eat eat and eat and gain weight. i have to eat eat and eat and ALSO work out, or i wont gain weight. nothing comes free in life.

good luck!

First thing, dont panic
Second thing, listen ok, because this will help you alot.
:)

I need you to think though first, about how-much you want to get down to where you wanna be,think
because what follows is ancient juju magic that has worked for thousands of years. and you cant take it half heartedly

Now, there are various types of programs that you can go on for a "fast lose" result, most of which can almost kill you.

The best solution for you is if you want to shed lbs and gain extra energy is to simply change your lifestyle.
I say lifestyle instead of diet BECAUSE, a diet by definition isnt what people think of them. what people think of them are temporary plans that they assign themselves to until they reach their target weight, and then go back to the old way of eating when they look they way they want to.

This-is-incorrect
because those same people end up BACK on a diet next year, ussualy heavier than before.

Actually
A diet is really, what you eat, period. its what you consume on a regular basis, like a cat has a regular "diet" of catfood and milk.

what you need to do is examine your diet, remove all or as many elements that arent healthy for you for one, start keeping track of your nutrition facts on the backs of the labels, do some research on what your age range should be taking in for all the various elements. carbohydrates, fats, sugars and the like. then maintain that limit and no more than that.
sounds complex i know, but you gotta work on this in mind not just body so really do look all this up for your own sake.

next thing to do is, to eat on a regular basis, sounds crazy i know but i just told somebody else this who has almost the SAME problem, if you try to starve yourself you tell your body that there is no food around and it-will-save even MORE of it.

SO, start eating 3 square meals a day, healthy in quality AND quantity, because eating till your stuffed with the good stuff is about as bad as having a snack of the bad stuff. healthy in the types of food, and the quantity of food.

Another things that you are going to HAVE to do, and this is mandatory for ANYBODY reading this, that wants to lose weight or just get healthier in any case IS, drink atleast 8 full glasses of water a day, may sound trivial and the after affects of doing so will be annnoying at first.
Then again water is natures miracle to life, it cuts hunger in half, it raises your metabolizm, it gives you energy by pretty much greasing the gears of your body, and TONS of other stuff. so....8 glasses a day..no excuses.

Next thing, and yes it will be said again, exersize, not the half hearted 30 situps and some tv afterwards style either.

What you need to do ontop of all this stuff, yes you needa do ALL this stuff if you want decent results.
is aerobic exersizes, pushups and situps are fine, that is, if your going for toning up, if your going for weight lose its walking
running
swimming
stairclimber
crosstrainer
yoga (yes i said yoga)
and you cant just start with something like, running for 30 minutes, that can seriously hurt you.

Start off slow and steady, build up a rythem of say, 10 minutes of speed walking or 5 minutes on the stairstepper and work your way up not in difficulty, but time doing the exersize. its not how HARD you do the exersize. its how LONG you do it.

If you need some proof, then look at that guy on the subway comercial, the way he lost all that weight was he not only ate subway like everyone knows, but he also walked 4 miles a day. 2 miles to get to subway and 2 miles back to his house,,,,a day.
now thats something else you are gonna be faced with,

determination

cause if you quit. your only quiting yourself.
So seek out help, ask friends to help both encourage you, AND to prevent you from weezling out of your responcibilities on this. trust me i did something similar and my friends knew about it before hand because i asked them, and they didnt let me quit. now im much happier with my life.

i believe that if you can do all this, you will be about as happy with yourself as you ever will be, not only for getting your goal, but proud of yourself for the determination you showed in working through it all and having the courage to get it done.

I believe in you o.ob
