When Satan approached Eve (through the speech of the serpent), he actually challenged the rightfulness and righteousness of Jehovah’s sovereignty. He intimated that God was unrightfully withholding something from the woman; he also declared that God was a liar in saying that she would die if she ate the forbidden fruit. Additionally, Satan made her believe she would be free and independent of God, becoming like God. By this means this wicked spirit creature raised himself higher than God in Eve’s eyes, and Satan became her god, even though Eve, at the time, apparently did not know the identity of the one misleading her. By his action he brought man and woman under his leadership and control, standing up as a rival god in opposition to God.

The name Satan was given to him because of his becoming a resister of Jehovah. Satan is also known as the Devil, because he is the foremost slanderer of God.

. Beginning with his first overt act in turning Adam and Eve away from God, he was a manslayer, for he thereby brought about the death of Adam and Eve, which, in turn, brought sin and death to their offspring.

Satan tempted Eve. Most Christians and Jews don't even know this but Satan was not kicked out of heaven UNTIL after he tempted Eve.

The bible said he was proud because of his beauty. He wanted worship like God. I think he was jealous of humans myself. He was quit favored until humans were created by God. He was so favored he was a guardian Cherub in the Garden of Eden!
Ezekiel 28
'Thus says the Lord God: "You were the seal of perfection,
28:13
You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created.
28:14
"You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.
8:16
"By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones.

28:17
"Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you.

According to the story, he gave us knowledge much in the same way that Prometheus gave us fire in the Greek myths.

Let me see if I can get this one.

He killed two kids for making fun of a bald man.... Wait, that was God...

There were the times he cursed all those races for eternity... RATS! That was God too...

I know! What about the times his faithfil and loyal worshippers gave their daughters and female servants to mobs of gang rapists. The Bible describes them as being righteous men of... oops, God again.

This is a trick question, isn't it?

Does this answer your question?
----------------
"Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."

Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."

I would say bribing someone in order to be worshiped as a God is pretty evil. It's also pretty desparate. Would you pay someone to worship you or would you want them to worship you freely?
