Maybe meth. I knew a girl once who used and she acted all kinds of weird before I found out what was really going on.

Have you considered that she might have a mental health disorder rather than a drug addiction? As a 20 year old, she has the right to refuse counseling or treatment or really any kind of intervention, as long as she is not a threat to herself or others. I know that can be very frustrating because as you know, with any drug use there is a risk of harm to herself. But unfortunately just being irresponsible doesn't constitute a threat of harm to herself.

Drug tests do not test for all kinds of substances. Ask whoever performed the test what substances were screened. Many people know how to get clean UA's even if they are using, but I suspect that if she tested positive for marijuana, she didn't fake her UA results.

It sounds like she has a mental health problem. Has she ever had problems when she was growing up? Some times certain mental health problems start turning up at her age. My niece was acting the same way. She was smoking pot and drinking, Her parents thought that was the problem. Then she started hiding in corners, hearing voices. She been through a lot, She has good times and bad times. She is taken medication, the meds stop working, and she has to start all over again. She is now 29.

there are so many drugs now adays, but a couple big ones are crack, cocaine and crystal meth. all are terrible and are very addicting. people on the drugs are very moody and need to be in some kind of narcotics treatment facilities. with most users they do not get help on their own and will continue to use until their last bridge is burned. its sad but true. i see it every day. signs include burnt lips from crack pipes, loss of appetite and anorexia looking from crack or cocaine, tracks or veins highly visible from shooting up on heroin, and with crystal meth over a prolonged period of time their teeth will rot and fall out also a horrendous smell when the come down from their high. i am very sorry for you and i hope this helps:)

I don't think there is anything that she would be on that wouldn't show up.

Depending on the quality of the marijuana she is smoking though - some is much more potent - so she might just be getting high (which honestly, I don't think is nearly as much of a problem as drinking excessively.

Unfortunately, she is an adult (sort of) - so it is mostly up to her what she wants to do with her life. You can tell her you are concerned - but that's about it.

Perhaps your 20 year old has a mental illness that you're automatically calling drug use. Perhaps she needs the help of trained medical staff and not parents that cannot use punctuation in a paragraph.

Check her arms for heroin. check her hands for burns from crack or meth. smell her clothes for unusual odors. She could be smelling something too. Its' hard to know. Have her admitted to a mental hospital. They have emergency services for drugs. Do it sooner...don't wait. I wouldn't tell her you are taking her there either. you may have to call an ambulance.
If you find drugs or paraphinalia (sp), I would call the police.

if you are not a trained mental health professional with special training in drug abuse patients, you do this girl a disservice by trying to help her yourself. Get her professional help.
