Because they look at things in a rational, not a supernatural way. Things, they conceive, must be within the laws of nature. For instance people cannot walk on water. An illusionist magician may find out a way to make it look so, or you could cleverly walk on ice or glass that makes it appear like you walk on water, but people simply don't walk on water. Now a rational person hears about the story of Jesus and says, "Oh, it must have been walking on ice, if it happened at all" but the person who looks at things in a supernatural way says, "If Jesus is divine, then he is not bound by the laws of nature and can do such things. I do not think he would be walking on ice because why were professional fishermen out in a lake when it was frozen over, how did they not realize there was any ice, and Peter got out and sunk, are you telling me he did not realize at all it was cold and also, of the entire frozen lake, Peter just so happens to break through?"
The resurrection is another example. Normal people stay dead, so a rational person hears about the story of the resurrection and thinks he must have passed out. But a person who sees the supernatural realizes that when a person is stabbed in the heart by professional Roman soldiers who are trained to kill - the man will not simply up and start walking around the region three days later. The resurrection, to the person who sees the supernatural, is another indication of divine interaction.
Think of it this way.... The Bible talks about talking snakes, talking donkeys, a sea parting, city walls falling at the sound of trumpets, a woman turning into a pillar of salt, a staff turning into a snake, a person walking on water and rising from the dead.... None of those things are rational things. If your friend told you, "I walked through the Pacific Ocean today" you would consider them mentally off.... That is because those things are irrational, they would not happen in our natural world. The only explanation could be that they are simply impossible, period, or they may be possible due to the supernatural........... People who do not believe in God simply see the first explanation, a rational explanation, and not the supernatural.

your common sense is misguided to me,your belief in a God is to me simply ridiculous.
You have no proof of anything other than the Bible and that cannot be used as evidence due to the iregularities contained within the texts,It was written by Roman scribes some 300+years after the life of Jesus and was heavily rewritten to suit the fledgling Roman Catholic church. That is a fact you just cannot deny, even the Vatican accepts this.Even for us today it would be difficult to write an exact account of events that happened in 1707 with accuracy to words and phrases.
Christians represent just 18% of the total world population leaving some 82% of other faiths and atheists.not all faiths believe in a higher being.
I just cant comprehend your ,and others belief in a God.to me it isnt faith it`s common sense.

If it were common sense to blindly believe in a fantasy just because it's in a popular book that passes itself off as a morality tale, people everywhere would be praying to The Cat in the Hat, Superman, and Gandolf.

Good on you for having 'faith' but I wouldn't agree with it being a matter of common-sense! I think common-sense goes right out of the window when you look at global 'faith'.

There is absolutely no concrete proof that a god exists. Common sense is believing only what you can see with your own two eyes, and there is nothing on this earth or that we have seen elsewhere to give us the indication that there is a higher power.

How many more times do we have to answer this question? We don't believe it - end of. How come you can't believe there is no God? Stupid is not common sense! Neither is BORING!

Most Atheists have analyzed the available material evidence for the existence of one or more deities (gods and/or goddesses) and have concluded that there is no real evidence of the existence of gods or goddesses. They generally believe that the universe, Earth and its life evolved by perfectly natural processes. They see no evidence of intervention or guidance by a supernatural entity. They generally feel that ethical and moral systems governing human behavior can be developed without reference to any code of behavior of allegedly divine origin. Other Atheists are people who have simply never been exposed to belief in a deity or deities and therefore have no belief in them

Common sense is realising that Santa is nothing more than a ploy to give excitement to an otherwise dreary occasion.

I don't believe in God. There's just as much prove that fairy's, unicorns etc are out there, but if you believe in them people think you're nuts. I really don't understand how people work. It's all man made.

Does common sense guide your grammar and spelling? If it does, your common sense is failing.
Why can't people simply accept the fact that not everyone is going to think the same way? Is it really that difficult?
