I always like asparagus or broccoli rabe with a lemony Italian dish. Sauteed spinach or chard with garlic would be nice, too.

Also, I like to add diced red bell pepper and mushrooms to pasta dishes like that.

You really have a good meal here that it light.

I would suggest some crunchy bread to serve with the pasta. Take a baguette and brush it with olive oil. Let it brown, when it gets out scrape a clove of garlic over them. Just enough to get the flavor.

If you are looking for a starter I would suggest something vegetable oriented. You may want to take a cuke (I suggest an English cuke - they are less watery and seedy), spread it with alouette (herbed goat cheese) and top it with lox or smoked salmon.

For a dessert I would suggest that you keep it light again. You can have an angel food cake and top it with whatever you like. Melted nutella, fresh berries and whipped cream might be nice. Or a flavored shaved ice (there are a ton of recipes on the internet for this). Or a sorbet topped with champagne.

For wine I would suggest that you ask your local store. Someone in there should be able to help you. There are a ton of options, but your store is going to be able to provide it for you. Perhaps a nice Pinot Grigio would be nice.

Happy Dinner Party!

I would think a nice salad would be sufficient, and maybe some nice bread or rolls. If you mean a veggie, steamed broccoli would be nice... put it in with the linquine and shrimp, or serve on the side.

I would make a gumbo to start
Then w/ the dinner I would make either some asparagus or broccolli and some type of toast or bread like garlic flavored
For dessert a slice of key lime pie

A veggie like asparagus or broccoli with hollandaise. The lemon in the sauce will complement each other nicely.
