In most states a test is offered several times a year. Somewhere buried in a newsletter from the State Dental Board of Governors that information can be found. So you might ask a dentist, or call your state Board of Governors. Probably located in your state capitol.

Any dental assistant that preforms radiography requires a license. Contact your local dental association to find out where to go.

You may have to take a test. When I lived in Pennsylvania, assistants who graduated from a DA program still had to take an exam. From what I was told, the exam wasn't difficult.

usually when you become a certified dental assistant they just have this thing that you send for to get your xray certification. if that isnt the case you will have to take a test that they send to you. when i took it my dentist i work for gave me the answers.
