Well, first you're gonna wanna get in the car and put the sunbitch in reverse. You need to then open the trunk to get proper ventilation, make sure there's not too much pressure buildup under the hood. You're gonna wanna pull the sunbitch open with a crowbar. Don't bother pressing the button you described, that does the windshield wipers, and we don't want that at this point. Just get a crowbar and pry it open, and you're good.

Press the little button, and it will release the hood, there's also a secondary release on the hood that you have to press or move sideways in order to completely open the hood.
Your owner's manual will explain this better I'm sure.

First, open the glove box and find the owner's manual ... then you will find out the directions. (I'm pretty sure the button will open the hood but there should also be a spring release under the hood and you may need directions for that).

Pull the hood release under the dash then go to the front of the car, lift the hood until it catches, look up under the gap and you will see a lever to unhook it. Lift and its open.
Who starts your car for you ?

you pull on that knob and it will pop up the hood, but there is another latch under the hood that you need to unhook. its a spring action hook that you push on. its really easy and nothing to be afraid on. when you got to close the hood just slam it shut... just dont get your fingers in the way.

yep my same guess, a new muffler. the muffler has little steal pellets inside, and when u have a hot muffler touch cold water, u get a damaged muffler. this is a typical problem that happens when driving thru water. with a defective muffler u would get a louder sound than normal. my opinion would be to replace the muffler.

pretty certain that's it. I had a cougar that had the button for the gas tank in the glove compartment with a pic. since it has the pic that's more than likely it. you can also call ford and give them your cart info, they should have all that in their system. peace!
