I think you know the answer. Listen, you only live once, why pour your heart into a situation that will never be a win-win? It's not worth your time and energy. He wants his cake and to eat it as well and you DON'T have to stick around and wait for this to happen. Take some control of your life and move on. Life is way too short.
Read the book: He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys (Hardcover)
It's a great book and it will help you leave this terrible relationship. Put your big girl pants on and move on with your life. I'm really speaking from experience. There is someone else out there who is wonderful...

You can't have a relationship with two people. Tell him that you can't continue this way. Don't try to force him out of the relationship with his ex. He has to decide on his own who he wants to be with.
Also keep in mind that because they have a child together his ex is going to be around in some sense for many years. Can you really deal with this? It can be harder than it sounds. The child is likely going to resent you and see you as the person keeping their parents apart. And kids have nothing but time to figure out how to sabotage a parents new relationship. Also keep in mind that you have to be able to accept being #2 because the child will always be #1.

you are actually not committing to yourself one fault ..but two. you love a man who has a kid and also still in a relation with his mother.... what a harm you are causing to yourself lady?... do you love to be hurt ?... if he told you that he won't hurt you, may be he really doesn't want to hurt you... but by no means you will be hurt... be aware he has a kid and still in love with his mother. Be rational, the picture tells that you have no place in it.,.. otherwise he is only searching for pleasures that both you and his wife are satisfying for him.... and this will show that he is not an honest man with all of you.

Sometimes it takes us to sit down and get a clear perception on our lives, instead of taking everything someone says to us for face value.
You know for yourself that when a man wants his cake and eat it too, he'll say anything to get it.
Love yourself enough to walk away before you get emotionally tied down to this man and you wake up years later wondering what the h*** you were thinking.
Good luck

At least he still wants to be in his child's lives. You should be glad that this man shows loyalty to his kid in the midst of absentee fathers. As long as it does not go beyond the child, why should it matter? If he wanted to be with her, wouldn't he have stayed with her ? Just make sure that he is happy to come home to you.

No you are wrong, it comes down to if you respect yourself enough. There is something wrong with a girl that goes after a married man, and something even worse for one that believes him when he says how unhappy he is at home. You are a home wrecker, you are trying to destroy his wife and kid. Are you really this selfish that you would hurt a kid?
Hope you are proud of yourself.

Glad to see you are realizing that that man is never going to leave his other life. Leave him and find someone who will want to have a family of their own with you.
