They are all the same, and no better than the one that is part of windows.

Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Defragmenter.

It doesn't hurt to run disk cleanup once in awhile too.

Also, before you start, you might want to try this:

Del.
Task Manager.
Select the "Processes" tab.
Click on "user."
Close nearly everyone that YOU are running (NOT explorer.exe), NOT any that are system or anything else; ONLY those with your name.

You do not need these running while you do this, but you do need explorer.exe.

You can start up all of those programs on their own, or reboot -- whichever you druther.

FWIW.

The best defragmenter is for mac.
For windows, opinions vary. Mine is that it must be absolutely safe. That means the one that came with windows or Diskeeper. Diskkeeper is faster and easier to use.
But I would listen to and evaluate all opinions.

Been using Diskeeper for years, but changed to PerfectDisk recently, it seems to do a much better job for us.

I've tried several. They're all pretty much the same. Stick with the one that comes with your PC.
