Have you ever seen a really ugly baby? Do you lie to the parent?

Or do you say "oh, what a cute little baby". Is it okay to be honest?

I mean doesn't the parent know their baby is ugly?

Yes I have seen babies that are pretty fuguly. It is not okay to be honest in this situation, because I'm sure the parents would be offended since every parent thinks they're kid is the cutest. You don't have to call them cute/beautiful...maybe say they look the parents...or focus on a feature that is good, like eyes...haha or you could always pull a Seinfeld and call the baby "breath taking"

Yes, I've seen some doozies. Yes, you lie to the parents. no, it's really not okay to tell them that baby is a little ugly. Yes, every parent knows, way deep down, whether their little snookems is cute or notsomuch.
Remember that all babies are horrible looking when their first born (and for a bit afterwards, too). They're all squished and ruddy and their heads are oddly-shaped.
Take pity on the little creatures.

Once a co-worker came to the office to show us all her new baby girl. It was the ugliest baby I have ever seen and I know my mouth dropped open because the girl was very pretty but the baby sure didn't look like her and it was a huge, fat baby on top of that. I just looked and said "boy that's a really healthy looking little one" smiled and walked away. As she walked down the hall I heard at least two other people say "boy that's a really healthy looking baby"!!!!!

No, it is not okay to tell the parent that the baby is ugly! I have seen the U-G-L-Y babies out there, and my friends and I actually have a joke about ugly babies, but you CANNOT tell a mommy or daddy that their child is ugly. That is worse than lying to them.♥

The joke is that one of us says "isn't my baby so cute?"
then the other goes with a grimmace "he is so...hairy" or "he is so......gray" or anything else that is obvious but not entirely offensive. We are in middle school, so whaddya want out of us?☺
P.S. In real life, we would just say that the baby is cute and be on with our lives.

Yes. I have seen a lot of ugly babies. If the baby is ugly I don't even say anything, cause I don't want to lie or do I want to hurt anyone's feelings.

You'll very rarely see a baby who doesn't look ugly during the first days of it's life. Yes, lie to the parents, because it would shatter them if they thought their child was different, and, it's appearance will be completely different within weeks or months. You'd have egg on your face if you told them the truth. Remember the story of The Ugly Duckling? It happens.

All parents (the good ones, anyway!) think their baby is the cutest one on the planet. I believe (waaaaaaay deep down) they know their baby isn't exactly the most attractive one around...but who wants to admit that? The baby is still beautiful and perfect in their eyes. :)) I think my two sons are absolutely beautiful (Not trying to be a smart alec, but my sons really are quite handsome!), but I do occasionally see a baby out at the mall, grocery store, etc. and I think, 'My God--I thought my kids were gorgeous--look at that beautiful little girl!"

When I see not-so-cute (I think "ugly" is a bit harsh when referring to babies.) babies, I don't say much. Maybe something like, "Oh how sweet!" or "Aren't you precious." I don't go goo goo ga ga over them like I do over the truly cute ones.

of course it's not okay to tell someone thier baby is ugly. I've seen some relly ugly babies before and I don't tell the parent anything, that's it's cute OR ugly.
