I get my 'morality' from the Bible ... especially the New Testament. Yes, I am a 'Christian' but I am NOT EVANGELICAL and don't believe that you 'must' believe in Christ to be 'saved' and go to Heaven. I believe in 'being good' and being 'nice and friendly' to EVERYONE I MEET and not being 'judgmental' about people who are 'different' from me in any way. I don't lie, cheat, or steal. I 'obey the law.' That is 'my morality' and I'm PROUD of it, but I don't say that 'everyone' should follow the same 'morality' just because mine works for me. The MOST IMPORTANT is 'the Golden Rule' ... Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Life experience and my brain. There is no MOST important moral. Each is better and worse than others by different degrees.

Man had morals LONG before your god showed up on the books. Man wants to live in peace, and to do so, he shouldn't mess around anyone else. That's what it all comes down to.

I have a really easy rule of thumb when it comes to my morals. Would I want someone to do this to me, my mom, or my daughters? If the answer is no, I don't do it.

Empathy, compassion, and societal norms.
I believe the most important is empathy. We must understand that our fellow humans are not unlike ourselves, and all of us would be better off together if we are good to each other.

the Bible, conviction of the Holy Spirit, a general unease...
the most important morals to me are "love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength" and "love your neighbour as yourself". all others can be lumped under these, including the golden rule. I like these not only because Christ said 'em, but because it reminds me
1) Who's first
2) that I have to love myself and others
