No. Hunting provides the best and most humane form of wildlife population management (according to state wildlife agency studies). The negative outlook on hunting has been unfairly fostered through over 60 years of children's films that teach our kids that animals are all fuzzy, friendly, disease free little creatures and that all hunters are evil, crazy, blood-crazed killers. You may not like it when I kill Bambi, but it's a cleaner death than starvation or disease caused by overpopulation, and it also helps keep your auto insurance down.

I think everyone answering that it is wrong has either said that basically hunting is barbaric. Well, I don't know that I agree with that. However, MCR said that hunters hunt for pleasure and trophies (I'm assuming she even means eating what you kill type hunters). In my family, I have relatives who wouldn't survive the winter without the meat they get from hunting, because as small time crop farmers, they don't make enough to have all of their sustinence come from the grocery stores. There are a lot of people out there like this. Many hunters also donate the meat to charities to feed the homeless.

Now, I do like a nice tender veal, and I don't feel bad whatsoever for the animal that is "tortured" to provide this food for me, but I think it's funny that so many people said hunting is wrong but still justify themselves with eating meat from the grocery store. A dead animal is a dead animal. When I hunt an animal though, at least it lived in the wild, and has a chance to escape. Not so with a side of beef, raised for no other purpose than to be killed so that YOU can eat. It seems much more natural and humane to do the deed yourself. That's how the rest of the animal kingdom does it.

Oh, and to the moronic point about vegetarians...plants are alive too, so you still kill a living thing. You just make yourself feel better because a carrot isn't as cute as bambi.

Take your tree-hugging self and get out of this section. None of the people in the HUNTING section think it is wrong, because they all HUNT. Why are you asking anyway, you are the billionth person to ask that in the history of yahoo answers. By the way, spelling the word wrong "rong" is not cool. Grow up and get your pansy-tree hugging-PETA-bullcrap *** out of here little girl! Hunting is not wrong.

I find nothing 'rong' with hunting as long as it is responsible. Unlike a lot of people here, I don't see trophy hunting as wrong as long as the laws are followed and as long as it is not for a truly endangered species.

Its a way of life, since the beginning of time. we wouldn't be here if our ancestors didn't hunt to survive. Hunting is a way of life for many people. It also helps control animals from over populating.Hunting is good for the Eco system and helps maintain a balanced wildlife in the area. You could be next in a car crash with a deer.

I think a bunch of idiots answered this one.If you did not hunt deer they will get a disease from over population and die.
They are very good to eat I prefer them over beef except for steaks. Is it wrong to Fish!!!!!!! They have to die to be eaten.
If hunters stopped hunting it would be just a short time that most of these animals would starve. Is that what you want or for them to be dependent on someone to feed them.
I got your spelling so all of us hunters are not stupid.

I think that animals who die from starvation caused by overpopulation die an agonizing and prolonged death. I do not personally hunt, but it seems to me to be a civilized and relatively humane way to "thin the herd". Animals who are raised in captivity and are routinely slaughtered don't have it any better.

And, by the way, the word "wrong" starts with a "w". But I guess you're aware of that -- now anyway.

I wouldn't exactly say hunting was wrong, however, I will say that killing animals for sport is barbaric. In my opinion, hunting should only be done for the purpose of food gathering and consumption. I was taught to only kill the wild game animals I intended on eating myself.

If "rong" is a good thing, then yeah, but if you mean "wrong", then no. Hunting is good for many different reasons, so it's not wrong.

No it not wrong. Most eat what they kill, its just the TV shows that just hunt for the trophies. Most who hunt predators dont eat it, just becasue thats like eating trash itself. Coyotes for the most part. They eat anythig that fits in their mouth, and what deosnt fit, they chomp it down until it does. Yes poeple hunt for trophies, its everyones dream to shoot a monser buck, but we dont go out looking for that, it least i dont. I go out looking for a nice doe that will be good eatin. The only thing i see Wrong is posting this in the hutnign section.
