Because everybody who tries to be funny gets reported until their account is killed.
Apparently, singles and dating is a very very serious place.

Because humor is an emotion and emotions don't translate well in the written word. On top of that, most people here don't have the writing skills to pull it off. Therefore you can try to use humor, and other can easily take it the wrong way.
It's just a problem in this form of media.
