quite frankly, I'm surprised at how many atheists hang out in the religion section. Surely you have something better to do than harass those of a different belief? This question is irrelevant, except as bait. Makes me wonder why those who claim to believe in no supernatural being are so interested in them...

never in a million years. So why then do people think that the universe was shaken and boom, everything we know today came into being by random chance?

"1 Put all the parts in a bag
2 Shake for a while.
3 Open the bag and look at the parts.
4 If any two parts are in the correct orientation, stick them together permanently."
Except who is supposed to be deciding what are the correct positions and sticking them together? That requires design.

"It would take 'magic' for that to happen. We don't believe in magic. You do."
On the contrary, Christians believe that intelligence guided the process, whereas atheists believe it was completely random. The latter sounds a whole lot more like magic (and magic done without even a magician!) than the former.

How many repetitions will it take before theists realise this is a deranged, false argument?

Wanna model real abiogenesis this way? Here's how you do it:

1 Put all the parts in a bag
2 Shake for a while.
3 Open the bag and look at the parts.
4 If any two parts are in the correct orientation, stick them together permanently.
5 Repeat 2-5 until you have a completed airplane. It may take months, so be patient.

2 weeks.
Seriously.
Go put every single part from an airplane in a big bag and shake the whole thing for 2 weeks.
You'll have the airplane back together at the end.

That would be one hell of a bag. And I'd like to see the biceps that could shake a plane.
However, laughing at such a dumb question aside, my guess would be a few billion years. Maybe you can get your decendants to carry on your work....

I don't know. How long will it take for you to read a textbook on science, rather than religion?

Strawmen such as what you're talking about here are far closer to religious beliefs than scientific theory.

Creationists use this tactic to try to discredit proven science, yet they don't realize that they making fun of their own beliefs in the process.

The self-assembling airplane does not represent any atheist's "beliefs". It would take "magic" for that to happen. We don't believe in magic. You do. You are simply mistaken.

Edit - Why are we so interested, you ask? Well, I know what you're getting at, but you're mistaken. The reason we are interested, is because people like yourself are allowed to vote. Let me say that one more time.

We are interested, because people like yourself are allowed to vote.

385,122,958, 311 years, but it will happen

When you have billions upon billions of years and trillions upon trillions upon trillions of planets in an ever changing universe, everything will eventually happen

You will even learn some real science and get a clue. That will take 385,122,958,312 years

first of all, this isn't a religious site, it's a site for q&a on multiple topics. this category is religion and spirituality, and not all religion, or all spirituality, is theistic.

secondly, don't you realize how lame the watch/airplane argument is? it's an inanimate object, which makes a poor comparison to living, growing entities.

HAHA!!! Talk to the atheists, they might know because they've already carbon dated a bus to take around 60 billion years. But I'll make a guess here, it'll probably take more like 80 billion years. Exactly. With no error at all. <--this is called "sarcasm", and yes get in line to stone me! Christian using sarcasm? How dare he(or I, rather)!

maybe 50 billion years
But now put the parts of 100 different planes in that bag.
How long before you get them back altogether
