For very good reasons atheists don't believe in any god and know that ALL religions have been invented by mortal men. Atheists are not any less moral, in general. Do you religious folks actually think atheists are bad people?
And I'm talking in general here. There are specific example of evil and good people of all faiths and types, etc., and that's what I care or want to hear about.

This being lied to stuff and the airplane in a bag garbage is a sign of gross ignorance.
It's good most folks don't seem to think of atheists as bad people. To do so shows ignorance in what the definition of an atheist is.

Wow. What alot of condescending replies. It's like atheists are puppies who just need a swat across the nose with a newspaper. For the record, there are good and bad atheists just like there are good and bad theists. And just because you believe in religion, DOESN'T MAKE IT TRUE.

In general, no. Just because someone doesn't believe in God doesn't make him or her a bad person. In fact, I know some atheists who go out of their way to serve those who are needy and less fortunate; because they believe there is no God to help them out. I also know some atheists who have tried to believe in God, but just couldn't.
On the other hand, there are some atheists who say, "There's no God, therefore, I can do whatever I want and take advantage of whoever I like, because there's no higher power to judge me." They also attack and harrass people who believe in God. But it's wrong to judge all atheists by the actions of a few bad ones. That would be bigotry.

Of course not. I can and do disagree with them on the subject of God though. I believe they need to believe in and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior just as any unbeliever does. God says there is only one way to Him--and Jesus is that way. And without Jesus, no one will be saved. I think atheists, as well as many of other beliefs, are deceived. That doesn't mean I think they are "bad people".

As far as I am aware I don't know any atheists. Where would they get the example of how to live their life and a basis for good and evil? I don't know good or bad, I can say I find it hard to understand how someone could have a good heart without God living there. It seems like they would always have an underlying message, goal, reason with everything they do without a pure unspoiled view.

But to your question, I would rather live in a Christian neighborhood than an Atheist one.
Not that all Atheist are bad people, most that I know just seem sad and un-happy.
Not that all Christians are perfect either.

Just try reading a small sample of Christian postings on here!!! Intolerant, egotistical, hate filled and bigoted!! Eschewing education, science, evolution works of fiction and much, much more. Christians are the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting gays, pro choice and so much more - but far worse whilst they demand freedom of religion they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them!!! It is the christians describing themselves surely?!! Gandhi said, “I like your Christ; I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ”!!!!!!! The GOOD christian that believes in a loving god and acts like it seems to have become extinct years ago!!

I never judge a person based on religion/lack of religion
I need to know a person before I can decide whether they are 'bad' or not.

I live in Central AZ and I am truly afraid to tell people here that I am an Atheist. I also don't mention politics at all...
