Christians, what motivates these 'evil' scientists to spend their lives 'making things up'?

Why do very intelligent scientists from all over the world do this? Because of their 'false' achievements and statements they are indirectly making religion look about as credible as a talking virgin snake that can walk across water..

Millie-Slight difference, not heard of any science crusades? Never heard any scare tactics such as heaven and hell either.

But I suppose I could ask you the same question: what motivated the early followers of Jesus (many of whom died for their beliefs) to "make things up"?

To control people with power. You are telling me heaven and helll aren't made up by man!Of course they are. Or. believe in me and I will let you go to heaven?!As if a supreme being would say that!! It is absolute nonsense. I look at religion's own evidence and deduce it is man made. Religion teaches non-thought, again a good example that it is man made. It teaches that men are sinful therefore need to believe. There are dozens of example that is was made by men to control the people. Scientists would be shown up very clearly if they lied all the time by other scientists-don't you think?

they want to avoid obeying God and so they try to disprove him through imaginary theories..

1) I don't think most of them make things up as much as they misinterpret the evidence so that it agrees with their assumptions.
2) As to why they might do this, maybe they don't want to believe in an objective God because that would also require belief in an objective moral standard that they'll be judged by.

Perhaps a better question would be, "Why are so many scientists also Christians?" What in the world could possibly cause them to leave the pure truths of godless science?

The motivation for the scientists I work with is simple...they want to improve the world and the quality of life.

i completely believe what the scientists say. In fact, by my definition, i believe that scientists are people who make a strident effort to explain to the general human race, in simplest possible lay-man's terms, the absolute mysteries and wonders of God's creation.

Christians are believing in what some "evil" preachers say about religion without Christians being able to verify it personally, while YOU, as well, are believing in what "evil" scientists say without YOU being able to verify it personally. They also think scientists only goal is to all band together to disprove god and the bible. That would be the paranoia complex

it began years ago when because the bible says the world is a sphere-some philisophical 'scientists' against the great discovers of that day who were as they are today creation scientists of that day-used their point that the earth was flat and the bible was wrong-

why not let something real motivate you?

this motivates me=Happy day, and a Lady said this to me="this is a good greeting. I can give you something that will make you think.One should not mistake the statement that "God is love"God does not condemn those who do not seek his love according to his mercy. Gods definition of Love is simply his mercy. With out love. read 1 John 4 Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Not that we loved God but he loves us and sent his Son as a atonement and sacrifice for our sins. God gives us his Spirit.That is when we love one and another. God lives in us and that love is made complete.

Perfect love cast out fear.There is no fear in love. We love because God loved us first. So when you expect that from others and it does not happen be it parents,associates, brothers or sisters. With God his love has always been unconditional God loves just because. And gives mercy just because. All you need but ask,he is always knocking at the door of ones heart. Jeremiah 33:3 says for us to call on Him and He will tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. You said something that caught my eye: "It's very hard to understand a good parent when all you've had to go on is an abusive example telling you what makes sense and what feels good." . It has taken me years to understand why God could love a person like me, yet we have parents or others that have not acted this way to us. I have to look at my father ... and then look beyond him ... he isn't capable of giving what he doesn't have for himself. On the other hand, God can ... because He created you princess ... He thought the world would be a better place with you in it ... and He was right! I feel you're top-shelf material ...

They're not evil, they've just been brainwashed by all the scientific PROOF they've dug up! Shocking. Perhaps someone should write a little book with rules for them. That'll keep them in line.
