There are so many people of all ages who have very low I.Q. and many of the people never heard of God. Most Roman Catholic saying (as not a dogma) as there is a limbo, purgatory and Hell. But is not clear yet about the limbo. Do you think the the Pope should go ahead a make a honest dogma for all unbaptized ones of any races as for the limbo? Why? Because its to give every person a chance to know for sure about the next world. Roman Catholic have freast days of all Saints days and all Holy Souls dead. Why not added all unbaptised souls day with masses as its will be on a Holy Saturday after Jesus died on the Cross. Jesus did decsents into limbo to deliverance those who are not baptized on the same day he died on the cross..

There's no such thing as limbo. The Bible is clear. Did the guy who died next to Jesus on the cross go to limbo cos he wasn't baptised or did Jesus say 'today you'll be with me in paradise?' Why not start looking to what the Bible says rather than what some dude in a big hat says?

First , I believe there is an age of atonement that all children fall into. In Biblical times I believe the age was 20 years old. When the child reached that age, he/she would decide to reject or accept God as their Savior. Also, NO child was ever baptized in the Bible. Besides that, how can you accept God if you are an infant and don't even understand who He is? If you read it (and you should so you know the answers to your questions) all the people that were baptized were adults and no mention of babies or children.
You should also understand that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PURGATORY! Purgatory is just something that man created to give you hope. When you die, it is either Heaven or Hell - that is it. I know Catholics enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling that you can be cleansed of your sins (if you die in them) and that you can pay or donate to the Catholic church to speed up your passage from purgatory to Heaven (I wonder what bank God uses to put store that money?) As far as those that know God or not before they die, I am not qualified to answer that question. Especially when you get into tribes and such things. But, that is why it is important for Christians to spread the word to others and then we don't have to worry about it. There is ONE source of Truth - The Bible...PERIOD. Anything that is created after that is false and should not be believed. If you read Revelations, the last few verses pretty much says it all. Chapter 22: 28-29 - "..For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. " . Jesus did not descend into "limbo" , he descended into Hell (to conquer death) and then rose from the dead and then ascended to Heaven. Finally, why do you waste your time on saints, Pope, holy souls? There is only one that you should praise, and pray too and that is GOD.

As Catholics we can choose to believe in limbo or not believe in limbo. Belief in this theory is not mandatory. The Q&A from Catholic.com might help:

Q: What is the Church’s stand on limbo?

A: Even though the theory of limbo has never been a defined doctrine of the Church, the Church has never rejected it. The official teaching of the Church on the fate of unbaptized children is found in the Catechism:

"As regards children who have died without baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved and Jesus’ tenderness toward children, which caused him to say, ‘Let the children come to me, do not hinder them,’ allow us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without baptism. All the more urgent is the Church’s call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy baptism" (CCC 1261).

While it is possible that the theory of limbo is true, Vatican II taught that God offers every person (including unborn children) the possibility of salvation, even if it is in a way that we cannot perceive or understand (cf. Gaudiam et Spes 22). Thus, there’s no need to postulate a middle destiny between the joys of heaven and the pains of hell.

Well I believe there is a everlasting life-limbo-purgatory and hell. But which person goes there? Its up to God to decides on the judgement. Babies, small children, low i.q. people, those who know nothing about God or people who were taught of false imformation about God.
limbo as purgatory nobody stays. limbo is no suffering place for people of any ages and race for they were never taught or know what sin or wrongdoing is. They are happy and excepting for to be taking into heaven, whenever God allows.

We should just give up on the whole religion thing. We are learning that a god is not necessary, and most likely does not exist. Hell, limbo, heaven... etc... all of these are merely side effects of the belief in this god character.

There simply is no evidence that a god exists. There is more and more evidence every day explaining the things we attribute to god... It's 2007, about time we started acting our age.

As for IQ's there have been numerous studies that show a reverse correlation between belief and intelligence. This means that people with a lower IQ tend to gravitate more to religion and spirituallity, while those with higher IQs tend to be less religious or spiritual.

The pope is just a mortal man and has no say in limbo or any other non-worldly thing that exists. His opinion is absolutely worthless.

If you look back at the origins of limbo, purgatory, and hell, they are all made up by your regular mortal men. They don't exist. They are all fairy tales. You, other folks, and the pope cannot just say something exists and thus it exists. It's time to wake up and live in the real world and stop listening to folks' fairy tales.

No such a thing.
No, not even purgatory.
Think about this...if there were ANYTHING that a person could do to be saved, then Jesus would NOT have died on the cross to secure our salvation. A sacrifice of that magnitude would have been unnecessary.
Christ Himself in prayer asked if there were any other way, that that cup would pass from Him...but the answer came back that there was NO other way.
We can do NOTHING except trust in the Savior that died for us...and even THAT is a gift from God!

limbo and pergatory are not written about in the bible. pergatory was created by the catholic church in the middle ages to make money, sound odd i know.
the priest would tell people in confession to pay a certain amount of money to be absolved of their sins or spend so many years in purgatory before going to heaven. so people would give the church money instead of being stuck between two worlds.
From my understanding limbo was created during the same time so people wouldnt feel bad about their unbaptized babys dying from common maladies.

Two weeks ago the Roman Catholic theologians in Rome declared that there is no basis for the belief in Limbo, and there is reason "to hope" that unbaptized children go to heaven.

The Pope actually settled this in April. He eliminated Limbo altogether.
