A local funeral director should be able to help you with this, and with financing anything you will need to finance.
Check for insurance policies, though.

First of all, sorry for your family's loss.
Was your father ever in any branch of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserves, etc.?) There are allowances for veterans that cover some of the funeral expenses. If not, he may have had coverage from an employer (such as Blue Cross benefits, extended insurance).
If none of these apply, there could be some social security benefits - see:
http://www.socialsecurity.gov/policy/docs/progdesc/ssptw/2004-2005/americas/united_states.html
Another one to check into is church groups - there are numerous church groups that assist families in time of need.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Check with the local hospital and maybe the funeral directors association. They may have an idea; same with local charities in the phone book and your church group

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
Try the red cross to see what they can do. Also try the United Way to see if they can give you resources to help. Also the airlines have special fares. I hope this helps. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Try the Red Cross. They may at least have some information that would help you.

Try calling the Salvation Army. If they can't help you they may be able to refer you to someone who can.

Unless you just have to put yourself into 10,000 in debt, ask the coroner where he is where the nearest hospital that takes donated bodies for medical science. That's what I am doing with my body. And look everywhere to see if he had a life insurance policy. He may have had one where he worked.
