2 Bank Workers Killed in Alabama Robbery
Published: 5/14/07, 12:05 PM EDT

BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) - A gunman fatally shot two bank employees during a robbery Monday morning at a Wachovia branch, authorities said.

Deputies later shot one suspect as he left the bank with a gun held to a female hostage's head, and they were searching for a possible second suspect, a Jefferson County sheriff's spokesman told The Birmingham News. The spokesman said two other employees were shot and wounded.

The conditions of the wounded employees and the suspect were not immediately known. Calls to the sheriff's department and Bessemer police for additional details were not immediately returned.

Wachovia spokeswoman Evelyn Mitchell said bank officials were working with police and the FBI.

"It's a terrible day for Wachovia," Mitchell told The Birmingham News. "Our hearts are with our employees and their families right now."

Bessemer is about 15 miles southwest of Birmingham.

The actual quotation is that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. It is people who want to acquire more money than they are willing to work for legitimately who are causing these incidents, not the money itself.

The quote is "The love of money is the root of all evil".

Money itself is nothing but an object. It is how bad you want it that can cause a problem. If you put a nice person in a room with a million dollars and then waited. The nice person does not become evil.

The guys in this article were not made evil by money. They were bad guys because they wanted money. If they did the same for stealing a car, you would not say we need to get rid of cars because it makes people steal them. If someone killed another for food then it would be foolish to ban all food because someone might kill to get it. Don't blame the money, blame the jerks who kill to get it.

An sad and tragic event.

Money is not the root of all evil. But, the love of it is.
