In Northern Mexico people only fry precooked flour tortillas when they make buñuelos, a sweet treat. Otherwise we cook them and eat them soft with our meals.

If you're planning to fry the tortilla, eventually, it will be cooked. No need to pre-cook it before frying.

I always do. To me they're not tortillas until pressed, just a blob of dough. Then you can fry them. I just pressed some last night and I used mine and my hubby fried his.
