I think that could be a good idea for better sleeping, since I have scoliosis and bad lower pain and my husband have mid-back pain. But is it really confortable? Don't you just "sink" on it? Is is confortable to lay in bed and read? How about sex? Please give me you personal experience.

I hated the one I slept on, they feel marvelous when you first lay down, but, after about twenty minutes, the foam has somewhat set in the shape you've created by laying still, try to roll over into a new position, and you CAN'T. As for intimacy, there is no support for whomever is in the bottom position, and it's alot more work for both. I got rid of my tempurpedic four days after I got it, will never use another one.

I have a Tempur-pedic mattress. It's one of the best things I've ever invested in. My body does not "sink" on in. It offers perfect support, just like the commercials show. It's great for lounging, reading and having sex. No bouncy-bouncy, no squeaks, no hard spots, neither too soft nor too firm.
I have found that the mattress is much more comfortable with a thick mattress cover, which helps ventilation. Before I got that, I pretty much burned up all night. Viscoelastic foam has got to be one of the best insulators known to man!

My girl friend has laid on one and said you can't roll over very well at all in one. You may want to try a tempur pedic mattress topper as we just bought a knock off brand yesterday and we liked it so far the first night. Also consider gettting your scoliosis treated and get your back pain and hubby's back pain checked out to find out what is causing it before you spend money on something that might not work. You doc may be able to help your back problems once he figures out what the problem is.

I slept on one at a relative's house. It was quite comfortable after I got used to it. The whole feel of it is just so completely different that it took quite a bit of adjusting in order for me to be comfortable. I have periodic shoulder and lower back pain and once I got into my regular comfortable position I was fine. I would consider getting one when it comes time to replace my mattress. My relative that I stayed at switched all of her mattresses in her home to Tempur-Pedic because she swears by them. Both her and her husband have mild scoliosis and they find that they get a much better sleep. I know you don't sink in them, they are quite firm in terms of supporting your weight.
Regarding the reading, they have two very young children so I that she only reads while she's in bed, so I would assume it is comfortable.

I have many friends that have them and love them. I have only tried them in the store for about 15 minutes. I am considering one also, as my husband is a disabled veteran with severe back pain. The only complaint I have ever heard about them is that the people get very warm. It holds in body heat. The best thing is to try them out. Stores will let you test one for about 15 or 20 minutes. Also, go to the tempurpedic website and they will send you an information kit. Also you can try them for free for about 3 months. If you don't like it, you can send it back for a refund, except for shipping. Good luck.

when we first got ours, for the first two weeks my back was sore. Come to find out my chiropractor said this was because it was forcing my back to stay in it's natural alignment. Before the tempur-pedic the mattress was not allowing this. So once your back gets used to it , it is great.

Try it out. One man's comfort pad can be another's torture flat...my wife loves tempurpedic, I hate it...one of my patient swares by that number thingie and I have other patients who think it was absolute waste of money...
Go to store, lie down..and stay on your back (as that's the best sleeping position) for prolonged period..if you have urge to toss and turn, that's not a right mattress for you...do not listen to what others like...they are just lucky bastards who got it right by luck lol...find your own mattress...it's just personal thing..
think of it as bra...you can never find the one that fits you perfectly..and when you find one...it's like heaven right? At least that's what my female friends tell me lol...well...mattress is like that...
btw, since you have scoliosis and your hubby a back pain, perhaps those sleep number thingie that let's you adjust pressure on 2 sides separately might be a good idea..but don't take my word for it..try it out...
