I'm applying for a job that requires you to fill out an application at the job but they also want resumes with the application. I've been taught to put both in an envelope but that's when you are mailing or giving them to that person. So now I'm lost and don't know whether to pre-stable or what. Please help. Thank you!!!

No, you do NOT use staples. Maybe a paperclip.

I would use a paperclip, no staples for sure! Also, those clear binders look nice, but the person who is collection all of the applications and resumes will most likely be annoyed by it. It won't make yours easy to store with the rest of them, I would stick with a simple paperclip.

The best thing to do is make their life easiest.

Stapling will make things harder for them, because they have to pull them apart, maybe tearing the page. This creates a problem if they scan the documents.

I would suggest using a clip that is unlikely to come loose, such as a magic clip or butterfly clip, paperclips are not a good idea.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter.

Don't staple it, but do get a nice big envelope that it will fit in without having to fold. And put your name in the top left-hand corner, on the back, and the name of the person it is going to in the middle on the front.

Do not staple. Be sure to print your resume on nice 24lb fine parchment paper. This will convey professionalism to your future employer. This is your chance at making a great 1st impression. Good luck.

NOOOOO! No staples! Maybe a paperclip...but your best thing to do would be to get one of those clear binders (they have just a front and back and a thing that runs along the spine that you can take off to put your papers in, and then put it back on and it holds the pages)...it would protect your resume from spills (and spills on the desk of a prospective boss!)...and makes yours look cleaner, neater and that you spent a little extra time to pay attention to details...

Do not staple. It's very unprofessional.
