Normally only once but In some Cases a person can catch it twice, but by todays standers with the way viruses are mutating and if you have a weak immune system i could easily see you getting it 2 or 3 times. I would not worry about it though because the odds are so high against it.

You can get it a second time if the first time was not severe. My sister had it twice because of that. I would talk to the doctor and see if you can get the chicken pox vaccine. I am not sure if they will give it to you if you have already had chicken pox once.

It is possible to have them twice if the first time you had a very light case of them. Both of my children had a light case the first time and when exposed to them the second time and got them they were covered.
