I figure we can start with torture racks and iron maidens for unbelieving men, and hot fire pokers for ladies who study herbal medicine. And Pat Robertson 24/7 on everyone's TV. Hallelujah!

Ok, I am joking, I am not a Christian. I was trying to come up with a Christian horror story for a short novel. Good start?

Great start. But you'll be more successful with greater subtlety. Here's an idea:

Pretend to be pro-evangelical Christian all the way through your book, then advocate something truly horrifying at the end. Attacking stupid ideas directly is not usually as successful as pretending you are one of the faithful and then promoting an idea that 99% of all people think is idiotic.

Just look at what the Westboro Baptist Church is doing for Baptists. Very, very bad PR.

You don't need racks and pokers, Robertson is scary enough to carry any story
