find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I was in the same boat as you are. Guess I'm still in the boat. My mom's diabetic and I have a higher risk of getting it too. I'm overweight and have been trying to lose weight for like a little over a month now.
What I did is figure out what calorie count I should be at to lose weight. The Biggest Loser website can help calculate it (the info on there is great and encouraging too). It's a lot of work at first: to stay committed and to keep counting the calories, but it works! The weight loss is slow 1-2 lbs/week, but it helps you become aware of what you are eating.
I also walked the treadmill for like 30 minutes daily (if I can) or I do a 20 minute pilates program daily. The treadmill can be hard on my knees at times so the pilates was a great workout to help stretch and tone my muscles. Some of the exercises were hard at first but now I can actually do all of them. The stomach exercises kick butt!! I mean they really make you work.
I started at 160 lbs (I'm really short 4'7.5" which makes me overweight/obese with the ratio) and now I'm down to 140lbs! (I want to get down to 120lbs or less if possible too.) I feel great but I continually struggle with motivation.
So, when I don't feel motivated I just imagine some normal (non-celebrity) person that has the ideal look and weight that I'd like to have and that makes we work even harder!
If you need motivation, you can always email me! I'm always in need of motivation too. We can be online weightloss buddies. (My friends are on a diet with me, but they tend to fall back into bad habits and aren't good motivation)

I determined the booklet to be very informative and effortless to learn. I've misplaced 17 pounds in 12 days, i'm just involved that i am shedding too much weight, too swiftly. I will admit i have not adopted the advisor exactly. I'm no longer sticking flawlessly to the listed foods and meal plans (but as a rule) and doing very little undertaking, however the weight keeps flying off. It obviously works and if i'd adopted it exactly I feel it might scare the dwelling daylights out of me considering of the quantity that i'd lose. So thanks again for the know-how. I've never purchased some thing like this earlier than considering they're quite often stuffed with trash, however 3WD has been a high-quality shock. Get began in these days!

I can completely sympathize with you. I struggle to lose weight and seeing my husband and kids eat yummy things makes it that much harder, but I want to be around to see my kids grow up and grow old with my husband so I got serious. If you think that a diet plan that involves meal replacing shakes and supplements will be something you can do I would reccomend Herbalife.com it is very healthy and it works really well for me(someone who struggles with conventional diets). A good way to get exercise in is to do situps and pushups or other exercises during commercials on tv. You are more likly to do them if you know you are only doing it for 2-5 minutes at a time. also you can walk or jog in place until you get more comfortable with exercising with friends. I like to jump rope in the living room while watching music videos. Try starting off small so that you don't get discouraged and be realistic, nothing is going to make you lose 130 pounds instantly, set realistic goals like 2-3 pounds a week, make a diet/exercise plan AND STICK TO IT. You are more likely to keep the weight off if youlose it slowly and consistently. Good luck and keep your chin up! If you want someone to talk to or help keep you on track I would be more than willing to help you.

If you are desperate....you willing to spend $50? I'm not a salesperson, just I know for me to have motivation, I have to spend a little money on a workout program. I seem to be more motivated when I think I can't let hard earned money go to waste! Anyway, I do a really incredible dvd series...it works, you see results like in a week! Also, for free, they have like a buddy exercise page. So like today, I put that I was going to do my workout at 9:30 am, and then I get an email saying "so and so will join you at 9:30am) They don't give out your personal info, but it's motivating knowing that someone is waiting for you to join them online to workout! Between the motivation and the dvds, I lost 20 lbs...and got a 6 pack in under 6 weeks! And this is after I have had my tummy stretched out with twins!! LOl So if I can do it, anybody can! Good luck!

Its so hard but you HAVE to do it. Tell yourself your not going out to eat unless you just have a salad. Don't drink soda, drink A LOT more water, eat tons of celery (it reduces water weight) and go on walks. You can walk as far or as fast as you can. Walk everyday and eat healthier and less and you will see results faster than you think! You can loose just as much weight walking as you can running as long as you eat less. Don't lift weights or anything until youve lost most of the weight. Eventually you will be able to walk further and faster and you will feel great. Try getting a dog! They will help you go on walks, they love to walk!
