It's already built, but underused. Open up "the Boot" at The Glen & have the Cup drivers run the Long Course like everyone else does.

The noise inside would make it unfeasible. Harmonics from the vibrations could make it unstable.
For me, it would look like the fantasy track in Papyrus NASCAR 2003 Season. Papyrus Motorsports Park.
Usually I don't mess with fantasy tracks, preferring to run actual or historic layouts. I imported the 1967 La Mans (Sarthe) track and love to take my NASCAR simulator ride out on it.
My best lap around La Mans is 3:13.436 in a stock car and I'm slow. La Mans (Sarthe) is an 8.38 mile 11 turn course comprised mostly of very narrow public 2-lane blacktop. The NASCAR simulator tops out at 220 mph (239 mph w/draft) at the end of the long straight before braking into a 90 degree 50 mph RH turn.
The Papy fantasy track is a 3.77 mile, 7 Turn layout (right and left with esses) with 2 long straights and banked wide turns that vary in banking and radius. The track is wide everywhere, requires some shifting even with all the corners being high speed. My best lap around the course is a 1:09.613 and I'm slow.
It's like a crooked unrestricted Talladega! All the grandstands are on the outside and positioned to see virtually the entire track.
It could even serve as a venue for F1. Let's find out how fast they can really go, or at least, want to go. There would be enough room for F1 drivers to race 4-wide in the corners, if they can.
Build it and they will come!

I would buy North Wilkesboro but I don't know who I'd hire as the track president. I would try to get Cup races back at the track, but I would settle for Nationwide, Truck, or ARCA racing there. I would add more seats and make a grandstand that would allow even the person on the front row a view of the whole track. I wouldn't let any company have naming rights to the track although I'd allow them to sponsor the races there in some form.

I think a combo course with the oval + road course together woudl be a hell of an exciting venue. Daytona oval + road course. It is already there. Alll they need to do is to run it.
They should delete Atlanta off the schedule due to the people in Atlanta are apathetic (they do not support anything in that lousy city). Keep the Daytona races then add the third from Atlanta's loss and use Daytona's road course PLUS the oval.
Wow. Can't think of a better theatre than that!

A road course in teh heart of a major city; much like the Long Beach Grand Prix; Monte Carlo Grand Prix; etc. etc..
It would be a great way to do the All-Star Race. Have it in a different city each year and run the race right in the middle of the city. That my Friends would be the ultimate NASCAR experience and drastically increase the number of Fans.

If I were to ever create a Nascar race track, It would be a racretrack just like Talladega, it would be the same length 2.66miles, but with a little bit bigger banking in the corners

1.75 to 2.0 Mile kidney shaped.
Sweeping front stretch banked at abt 6 degrees and all turns banked at 7 to 9 degrees - This would make for a high speed exit/entry on the main straight.
Exit of turn two would lead to a back stretch flat w/a dogleg left midway down - just enough to make the outside the preferred line for entry into the dogleg (you could call it turn 3.5)
Make for a real loose set up and the drivers would actually have to DRIVE the car.

I would create a track that falls off like Rockingham and Darlington. But with three turns like the Pocono and where drivers have to use the wall like Darlington.
PS. You might need some ventalation for your dome....Carbon Monoxide Poisoning...lol. But a dome would be really cool.

I ithnk they should race a track that would be th equivalent of runinng the high banks at Daytona, then using the infield road course as well, like the motorcycle and sports cars do.

I think they should go back to racing in stadiums like the old days. If you have NASCAR 05, 06 or 07 for PS2, XBOX whatever, the Dodge Raceway stadium is like the ones they used to race at way back when.
