I try to be, but unfortunately not all my family members try as hard as I do.

No, I'm not close to most of my family members. It is true that a relationship takes work from both people, and if they're not willing to make an effort I feel it is better to build more fulfilling relationships with friends. I have several relatives that I only speak to if I call them. I am close to my sister, but than again we both make an effort.

Nope I'm lucky if I see any of them once a year some I haven't seen in over 10 years I'm from a family of 13 kids and I'm the oldest...

i'm very close to all my family members, but as u see all five fingers are not same nor you can ride 2 horses @ a time... give some more efforts in making them closer to you.. if it ain't works leave it... one day they will come back to u

not so much. i was close to my mom and sister but, both are passed. so, that leaves me with my dad and two brothers. i'm closer to my dad than i used to be.mostly b/c my mom is gone. my little bro has his own family with his own problems and my older bro is kind of a jerk and very hard to know. so, i guess we're not as close as we should be.

most ppl are close to their family members ..some arent ..depends on what is important to them ..family or their own life..im not that close to my own family but i still love them a lot

no i'm not close to my family at all...they decided blood is thicker than water...which means that I mean nothing to them since i am adopted. and now (at age 32) I don't talk to any of them...I have my own family...my husband (soon to be ex--but also my best friend) and my adorable 3 kids.

I am close to everyone, but my sister. We never got along and it only got worse when my Mother died. She got really nasty then so she moved away and now I hardly ever talk to her anymore. It is sad. I have tried and tried, but she just doesn't come around. Oh well.

I'm only close to my dad. My mom is a psycho and my brother and sister go out of their way to annoy me as much as they can.

we can't force relationships.. but just be yourself !
i'm not close with my sisters or father, especially since my mother died. seems like deaths in the family takes a toll on everyone.

our mom passed away and i am really close to my youngest sister and my 2 older sisters has a different life styles from me so we dont really talk and things changed with my aunt and grandma when my mom passed away so we dont associate
