I am neither Christian or atheist, however I strongly believe in GOD.The only reason I asked this question is because it really makes me sick to see how Atheist bash Christians, to be honest I really don't see a lot Christians bashing atheists. But what I wanted to see is, regardless of what you believe, how many poeple in both groups would answer this question. I know there are distasteful people on both sides but it was just good to hear something nice from both sides for a change. Thanks for answering.

Very good question. I think I don't even deserve to be called a Christian, as Christians are those ones who are willing to follow Jesus to Jerusalem and being crucified for telling the truth... and it's so difficult to say then, that you're a real Christian...

I think saying that you're a "good person" is rarely something with true meaning. Nobody is totally good or totally bad. Goodness is something that I measure related to Jesus. I mean, I'm as good as my life and attitudes are similar to His.

Otherwise, I'm just a "normal" person, divided inside between the good intentios I may have and the selfish decisions I make.

To answer your question, I'm not a good person but I so want to be like Goodness itself...that's all I can say. We all have a devil and a saint inside. It's so difficult to judge anybody...we just don't have the authority...we all have so much of God inside...

1. Atheist

2. I think I am a good person. Not perfect of course, but then I don't believe perfection is possible for anyone. For me, being "good" means caring about and helping people and the environment. It's about being honest, both to others and to myself. It's about following the rules that make sense and taking a stand against those that don't. It's about being a loving mother to my kids and a loving wife to my husband. It's about realizing that while I can never be perfect, there is always room for improvement.

I am a Christian. I believe what makes me a good person is I try to be good to people. Even those that dont' like me. I do everything I possibly can to help people. Most importantly I try not to be judgemental, and not rude and hateful and I try my very best to live for the Lord and do what He would have me to do. I dont' claim to be perfect becuase I most certainly am not. I have my faults just like everyone else. But I do try my best do do that which is right.

Atheist

I'm a good person because I go out of my way to help people that I care about, I volunteer, I don't lie, cheat, or steal. I'm about as honest as honest can get. Which actually can make me a bad person becauseif you look like hell and you ask me...i'm gonna tell you...I study hard, maintain a 4.0 average. I maintain the household of me and my boyfriend..he comes home to a spanking clean apt, and dinner every day. I love my family, I help out the neighboors, I dont litter, i'm cheerful, i love to make other people happy, i'm not in debt, i pay my bills on time, i'm not judgemental, i dont bad mouth anybody, (one of the main reasons my bf was attracted to me), i'm actively involved in charities, and i dont drink and drive

Quite funny , in this yahoo section

There is new kind of discrimination , Atheists and Christians.

Why atheists are so eager to make fool of believers?

Where does that energy come from?

anyway I was born as a good man , somebody just wasnt.

Our genes decide not only our physical traits but also intelectual levels and personality.

Personally I believe so.

1. atheist

2. I'm not really sure I'd consider myself a good person, whatever that means. I mean, I look out for myself and the people I care about. I have strong repulsions against anything like lying, cheating, stealing, but just out of personal aesthetics, not so much for any "selfless" reason.

1) If I must be labelled, I'm an atheist.

2) That depends how you define a good person. I'm morally sound if that's what you mean. I guess you could say I'm between neutral and good - I'm in no way a bad guy but I don't go out of my way to be good.

Christian
Me being a christian doesn't necessary make me a good person, I know plenty of people that say they are Christians and are horrible people. I belief I'm a good person because of how my parents raised me and I continue to try to be like that.

I am a Christian...and a TRUE Christian...i live my life by Bible standards...without hypocrisy...unlike many so-called Christians. I have very high morals...and I can't say what really makes me a good person per say...i am honest, reliable, a hard worker, clean, friendly, patient, and so on...but only Jehovah God is the one that can judge me...and decide whether i am a good person...

Question 1. Christian,

Question 2. I treat other people the way I would want to be treated. I go out of my way to do for those who are less fortunate. I am at peace with myself.
