This is a tough one. My children's father has disappeared and I can't locate him to get the papers served to him so I can receive child support. He is self-employed and hiding by not signing a lease, getting utilities, etc. I have exhausted all of my resources shy of hiring a lawyer or private eye. Is there anything else I can do?

Dear Friend,

Now that is something very unfortunate to have happened.

Hiring a lawyer for minor legal problems can be expensive, but there are websites like LawGuru, FindLaw and other places where you can get free legal advice. I found this website useful - http://www.uelp.org/freelegal.html

i'm a mom of an austistic infant and that i grow to be a single mom whilst he grow to be born. it quite is the deal. all your capability needs to bypass into raising your infant and giving him the affection and centers that he desires. form one, monitoring down a deadbeat will only invite a deadbeat into you and your youngster's existence. Neither of you desires that. form 2, you're construction and retaining interior you anger, resentment and many adverse capability in direction of this guy and that doesn't benefit you or your son interior the least. the previously you launch this, the happier you would be interior the friendly, drama-unfastened relationship you could have with your son. enable the courts manage the deadbeat guy (in spite of in the event that they fail) and you focus on your son. And, merely on the grounds which you're a single mom now, does no longer recommend which you will no longer meet somebody magnificent who will love you and your son and manage you the way you should be taken care of. (i'm now married to a super guy and he has observed my son and that i on no account spent a 2nd of capability chasing after a guy who did no longer choose me or my son in his existence.) reliable success to you!

If you have his social security number, then you can get him. He has to have something in his name like bank accounts, credit cards, etc. Best way to do it is try and get welfare. They will find him to get their money back. Trust me on that.
