In trying to keep this answer non religion v science, I would say it is to understand the world around us. Throughout history we have looked for understanding of our world, from discovering the world is not flat to knowing how our own bodies work internally. This is just another aspect of looking for answers, answers which may eventually help us one day.

The theory of evolution is based on the belief that there is and can be no creator God that created life. It is the belief that life simply evolved by time, chance, and chemistry and that all the forms of life we have today are the result of time, chance, struggle, and death. Belief in God, trusting in His word, directly contradicts belief in evolution. Both cannot be true because they contradict one another regarding the same issue: the creation of life. People are unrelenting in trying to "prove" evolution because they are clinging to their belief that there is no God, just as those of us who do not believe in evolution are unrelenting...because of our love for our Creator and our desire to bring the message of hope that is found in the Bible. We can't benefit from evolution [(fish to man) as it has never been proven, nor observed based on the scientific data available] because it leads us away from God and hardens our hearts to Him. Our only hope is in repenting of our sins and putting our faith in Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again so that we may have new life in Him.
Belief in evolution, though, is persistent, even though there is absolutely zero proof of it. The greatest obstacle to evolution? The fossil record. Darwin, himself, stated that the fossil record was a problem for evolution, but believed that future discoveries would prove out his theory. However, it has been 150 years since Darwin and of the thousands upon thousands of fossils we have found, how many transitional forms have we uncovered? None. Not even one. According to Darwin, the landscape should be littered with millions of transitional forms. What do we find in the fossil record? Complete, complex forms, some species existing today, some having become extinct. What does the Bible say? That God created life in all its wonderful variety, complete and able to multiply after kind. Evolution says that life began as a few simple forms that evolved into more and more complex forms in great variety and that the further back in time we looked, we could expect to find the distinction between species blurred. Yet, if we examine the fossil record, we find that there is actually less variety existing today than exists in the fossil record. And again, we do not see any transitional forms...all we find are complete, complex forms. Take for example the coelacanth, a deep sea dwelling fish. It exists in the fossil record without change as it does today, even though it was once falsely proclaimed to be in transition from fish to amphibian.
Evolution has many other problems. If you are really interested, check out Gary Parker's book, "Creation:Facts of Life".

Come on everyone. Leave "that guy" alone in his delusion. He won't be around in a kazillion years, give or take a twazillion years, so there is no reason that he should use his brain now. Let him be. There, now do you feel better?

Evolution has no point and no proof anyway. Natural selection
has not been proven at all. It is just an idea that Darwin had and for a hundred and fifty years others have tried to prove.

Sorry but the concept of evolution is proven. Maybe you need to catch up a bit from the first century where religion has locked your mind.

The problem is that evolution happens and people still "don't believe". This is pure ignorance. While I can see being somewhat skeptical of the theory of how evolution got us from single cells to human beings, you cannot dispute that evolution happens, as we are able to observe it. It will benefit everyone for people to be more educated.

Um, almost all of biology and genetics use evolution in their studies. Without evolution study and knowledge, we wouldn't even have a flu vaccine, let alone more complex treatments and cures for diseases.

Evolution has been proven, basically.
But...
Aren't you interested in the pursuit of the truth? Doesn't that matter to you? Aren't you curious? Come on.

The theory is very valuable. All of biology is based on it being true. Much of medicine is also.
Additionally, knowledge is never useless.

Because some of us don't believe that some sky pixie poofed us into existance. I don't see any way whatsoever in which we could benefit from believing that.
