Olive oil or grapeseed oil would be the best.
Olive oil is a little more versatile, but grapeseed oil has a higher smoke point and it's extremely rich in antioxidants.

It really depends on what you're using it for. Most of the time I use olive oil. But the flavor can be too strong for some things. If I'm not using olive oil, I generally use canola oil. I use peanut oil when I grind peanuts, and when I make a peanut sauce or peanut salad dressing. Never use olive oil when baking. If a recipe calls for oil, in that case it would always be canola oil. I can't think of ANY reason to use any other vegetable oil (corn oil, etc.) I rarely use butter, but of course wouldn't compromise a recipe if butter is called for by using margarine. So butter if necessary.

the worst is canola oil and it plays havoc on your thyroid therefore least healthy for you!
Best cooking oils are Olive Oil, Corn Oil, Sunflower Oil. Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil. It all depends on what you're cooking and what way you want your food to taste! Each oil has a unique charistic.. just ask any good chef! I prefer Sunflower Oil when making french fries. Corn Oil for golden nuggets! I prefer Olive Oil for breaded mushroom nuggets.. Olive oil also for Horn of Plenty ( dough wrap in form of a cone or horn and to be filled with veggies)! I think you get the idea here! ( If you want to settle on one oil for use for everything I recommend grape seed oil.. second choice would be coconut oil!)

It really depends on what you're cooking and how you want to cook it.
Olive, vegetable, canola and corn oils are great for quick sauteing meats and veggies - but the best flavor will be derived from using a good quality Extra Virgin Olive oil for this.
Vegetable, canola and corn oils are great for baking cakes, etc.
Peanut oil is WONDERFUL for deep-frying foods. It performs exceedingly well at the high temperature required and adds great flavor to your fried foods.
This info is just basic. For more detailed info, I would suggest checking "foodie" websites such as foodnetwork.com, allcooks.com, etc.

I use olive oil in most things. It's healthy and actually has flavor. Peanut oil is only for deep frying. Canola's better than the others, so I use that to make tortillas and bake. Sesame oil is good for stir frys and a bit on ramen noodles.

Extra virgin, first cold pressed, olive oil is the healthiest, grape seed, is also good for you and can take higher heat, also canola oil. The other are not as healthy for you. I sub canola for veg oil and have had no problems. I also sub canola oil for bacon or sausage grease at equal amounts for southern gravy

Canola or grape seed to fry with. Olive to eat raw with.
Although, I like to fry fish in extra virgin olive oil.
