I know that hybrids are regular gasoline and electric engine vehicles... but when I get gas can I also benefit from using E-85 gas?

I don't know of any hybrid cars that use E-85. The foreign car makers don't currently make any cars in the US that run on E-85 and they make most of the gas hybrids. I would check out Saturn's new hybrid Vue, the new Chevy Malibu hybrid, and Ford's Escape hybrid. Ford and GM both make a lot of E-85 vehicles. Normally it will say near the gas cap whether it's E-85 compatible or not. If it doesn't say there, it will normally say in the manual.

If the car is called a Flex Fuel gas vehicle it will take E-85.

They normally keep a list of what cars are E-85 compatible. That's partially how I found out if mine was. Then I checked my manual to make double sure.

In general Hybrid vehicles, like most other vehicles, can't use E-85. In most cases the vehicle will clearly state that it can take E-85 when possible but because of the corrosive nature of E-85 most vehicale can't currently use it.

Ford and others have come out with "Flex Fuel" vehicles that can now use E-85 fuel.

Even more exciting is the news regarding the ew GM vehicle, the Chevy Volt.

i think of it may be because of the fact it runs warmer? if your refering to vegtable oil gasoline, thats fit for the enviorment because of the fact it supplies off oxygen quite then co2, like gas.
