fire uses oxygen. candles don´t use much. i use to burn candles all the time because they gave off nice smells. always have an open window so fresh air can get in. it don´t have to be so much so a breeze comes in and blows out your candle, just a little.

A candle will use up oxygen in the room, but unless the room is completely sealed, more will diffuse in through doors, windows, etc. The natural convection process of the air heated by the candle will help move some air around, and any wind will push some around also, even if the windows or doors in that room aren't open.

The smoke from the candle may affect people who are sensitive to it, but it shouldn't both most people. Remember, candles were used by people for light for hundreds of years. Probably very few died of hypoxia caused by a burning candle. You're more likely to die of the housefire when you forget it and walk out of the room while it's burning.
