I'm serious. I've got a LOT of circumstantial evidence, but no hard evidence. He'd been talkiing about getting her out of her life for a year, and was coming up with all sorts of schemes and plans to legally get her out of the house (he didn't want a divorce, that would cost him money). I told a few people well in advance of her death of my thoughts about what he was going to do, and also kept a diary. I'm kinda damned if I do, and damned if I don't, and I don't know if I should tell the police or not, as they have such bad reputations regarding their investigations, and if I do, he will know it's me who turned him in, and he might try to kill me then. I don't know what to do, and it's been eating me up inside. He's one of the most schemeing louses I've ever met, a real "con" man with everyone, and I wish I never met him, but it's too late now. Help!

sorry, but i also doubt the legitimacy of this question. however, in case it is real, you can do the following.
do a web search for the crimestoppers hotline that serves your area. if you dont have one then you still have several options, if you truly fear for your safety e-mail me and i will try and help you. this is a very serious matter and it must be handled correctly and at once. dont e-mail me if this is some type of sick joke. i dont have time or the patience to deal with people who make jokes of incidents like this.

If this is a real question and not a gag (Which I doubt) take all the evidence you have to the police. They'll know more about what to do with this than you do. Watching CSI reruns doesn't magically transform you into a hot shot inspector or detective.

Make sure you have a good security system installed in your house and pray to God he doesn't read Yahoo answers, because if he does, he'll probably target you next. You just tipped your hand and revealed that you suspect him, and have evidence.

If you find yourself alone with him and he's armed, be sure to ask for a last smoke and a last glass of scotch so you can at least have a few moments of something pleasant before he "deals with the leak."

Call the police anonymously and give them the evidence. Tell them you don't want to be named. Contrary to popular opinion, the police are experts at investigation. The reason you think they aren't is due to the few and far between cases that are not handled correctly that get the most media attention. Either way, you can either give them an anonymous tip, or you can probably have them keep you private even if you are not anonymous to the police. Don't let this ride on your shoulders for the rest of your life.

Just so you know, in the investigation of a death, the first person of interest is the spouse. So either this guy totally fooled the police, or he has an airtight alibi.

If he fooled the police completely, you could bring in your evidence to them, see if they want another look at it.

The only way to find out is to contact the lead investigator.

With a friend like that you really don't need enemies! If there is no hard evidence, the Police can and will do nothing. If you report him and he kills you, then the Police can get him for your murder. Do you feel like being a hero or a matyr? Perhaps you can kill him in self defence when he tries to kill you, then you can be a vigilante hero. The smartest thing would be to distance yourself from him. A wise lawyer once told me if you ever have a problem, get rid of it, don't let it drag on and fester......Good Luck!

Man you got yourself in a pickle. You need to tell the police about what you think could have happened. The police will arrange to meet you somewhere and you can talk to an unmarked officer. I don't think that you would be a rat to do this and if it were me and I thought the way that you are I would tell them and not even feel bad about it. You can not feel bad about telling them about this if it is true. It might be you next

Take your information to the State Police and let them discreetly conduct an investigation... If you go local police you can remain anonymous or the State Police same thing...

You can report him anonymously to the police. Most police departments have a 800 tip line. Do it from a public phone and you should be able to conceal your identity.

I think you should stay out of it no matter how much evidence you think you have. if you r going to do anything you need to be talking to the police if it is eating you up that much.
