I am an american living in Wolverhampton and need a job very quickly. From what I hear it's easier to get a job at these bases if you are american. All I can do is try as I am really desperate for a job.

actually, that is a misperception. Most jobs on bases OCONUS are reserved for Host Nationals, and NOT Americans. and any jobs that are open to Americans, 9 times out of ten you must be a spouse or dependant who already has authorization to get on base. Notable excpetions include DoD teachers. These can be hired from without and sponsorship is provided via the schools.
