yes, its ok.
small meals:
e.g. i have to eat 1600cal/day to lose weight
6 small meals would make about 266cal/meal
i would probably get 350cal for breakfast, then about 150cal for midmorning snack etc.

The reason why eating smaller meals more often works is because the body has a constant energy source, but it is working all the time to digest the food. The meals need to be more than just an apple, like a bagel or a sandwich with plenty of energy. Just make sure you don't take in less than 2500 calories in a day because your body needs this just to function properly. Just make sure you are burning more calories through exercise than you are taking in and you will loose weight.

A small meal could be a banana or a half cup of granola. The idea is to keep your pallet satisfied but never be totally full so your a fat burning machine!

A bowl of cereal, fruit, soup and half a sandwich, veggies, etc.

I also do this 5-6 small meals diet and it helps me stay REALLY trim. Your metabolism is tricked and so you get fuller faster. Be really strict about this and exercise and you will see results in NO TIME!

Depends on what total calorie intake you want per day. Just divide that by 6 and then eat that many calories each time. Make sure that you are getting a sufficient variety of foods, though.

a very easy way to look at it is to use your hand as a guide. include one serving of protein and one of good carbs. if it's protein look at the size of your palm - a chicken breast, fish filet, etc. and for the carb look at the size of your fist (maybe the size of an apple or cup of green beans, etc.).
