It probably costs the loss of many illusions you have had your entire life and the ability to blame your actions on a universal scapegoat.
But it varies from person to person.
I've heard others charge 10% of your income.

Christianity: It takes everything you have. It takes your finances and your total commitment. Although there is no charge, we willing give our time and finances because we believe this is what God would want from us.
Matthew 13:44-52
44 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. 45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
28 "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? 29 For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, 30 saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'
....
33 In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple

There is no set requirement financially to be a member of my church. Tithing is between God and the person. In my church everything is on the honor system...there is a drop of at the back of the church but it is never collected during the service.....and the church has never gone out asking for more and the bills have always been paid......

Zero, zip, nothing. Not even mileage at a stretch, a little self esteem and confidence.
Believe in yourself, as you’re the only one who change your fortune.
I’m non religious, and that doesn’t equate to Atheism. Religion in itself is interesting, but nothing I’d stake my claim on.

It costs nothing to join the "religion" of Christianity. But to be a disciple of Christ, it costs EVERYTHING - your finances, your time and even your very life. True believers are called to lay down everything for Him.

It cost you nothing to be born again (be a Christian) because Jesus Christ has paid the price for you on the cross.
But you have to crucify yourself if you want to become like Christ (Galatians 2:20).

You can join my religion for free. After all, you set up your own rules, or you can join a group and still is free. No tithing, no monthly membership fee, and best of all, no church.
