It means excatly what it says. Sometimes when you love someone i hurts to let them go but you know it is for the best but if they love you then you will both deal with the obstacle that lie ahead in find a way back to each other.

It means don't try to convince someone to stay with you, let them go. If they ever really truly loved you they will come to their senses and come back to you. It's basicly giving someone the freedom to choose, because it's better NOT to be with someone whose love is not true for you. So if they never come back that's how you'll know.

that means that when someone breaks up with you, Its time to leave them alone. let your mind focus on something else or someone else. You cant force someone to be with you, if that is not what they want. If they were truly in love with you than true love never dies. They will come back.

Love should be a two-way street. You love your partner, your partner loves you. If one of you loves the other and the other doesn't love you. . . then that's not love. . . right?? Or it's unrequited love, which amounts to the same thing.

Anyway, the statement essentially means that you have to give your lover the freedom to choose you. If your partner, without the pressure of your love/attention/favors/needs chooses YOU, then that means it's real love. If your partner goes elsewhere. . . then it was never love in the first place.
