Get a humidifier. Might be that the air is too dry. If he's showing any signs of dehydration as well, you might want to get a fountain that would encourage him to drink more. Keeping him hydrated can help with any dry skin issues as well, which is what I'm thinking the problem might be. Also, dogs scratch sometimes...but if its around the ears, it might not be fleas at all, but ear mites, which are small enough that you can't see them, and require drops. But watch him carefully, b/c if he's just scratching normally I'd go with trying to fix the dry skin issues before you go looking for more dubious things. Sometimes its the simplest problems that need corrected.

It could be either allergies, or mites(mange), or something else. Trust me, take her to the vet and get tested and treated, not only will you know what the problem is and be able to treat it, but with most things that cause hair loss, the longer you leave it, the harder it is to fix, and more expensive in the long run. Trust me on this, i have a doberman that has just been cleared of mange, for now, after 3 years of pain and vets bills, about $5000 worth.

With warmer weather one worries about allergies, mange, and if no skin condition is obvious maybe this is shedding of the winter coat to summer coat. If your dog is uncomfortable and the skin is irritated I would see about a vet. I also found with the grocery store bought flea treatments that one of my cats is allergic to it (picks the spot of treatment bald!). If you are using something at the grocery for flea treatment I would ask your vet. Over bathing with dog related 'grocery' bought products can also be over drying and create itchy skin. I would definitely call your vet and ask what to do or if you need to be seen.

Go to the vet.

It may well be fleas - if you've used a product from a shop you can't expect it to work, especially if this a flea allergy.

However this may NOT be fleas. You need to go to the vet to find out what it is, as no one can tell without seeing her. And if it is fleas, you need to go the vets to get the right treatment.

your dog's skin is probably missing vitamins and proteins, etc., if it an all over loss of hair. If more on one side than the other, check to see if that is the side she lays down more on. Clean her bed or where she sleeps and buy an multi-vitamin and mineral supplement usually available at all pet stores. Takes a couple of weeks to fully work, but should see results in a few days.

It could also have some sort of mite as well. There is a certain type of mite that attacks the hair (fur) follicles.
Take it to the vet. :)

you can try mixing listerine and water in a spray bottle and spray her itchy parts and it should help. my mom always used that on my dog and it helped him.
