Can any good and wise Catholics out there please show me that I am wrong- that everything I have read, the true history of the Vatican, the evil, the wars, the lies is all wrong-is fabrications.

See: The Supreme Bible of God for what I am referring.
http://one-faith-of-god.org/final_testament/bible_of_god.htm

I grew up surrounding by priests, nuns, bishops and the very best examples of Catholic sancity and humility. Some of my uncles had survived being pastors in war, POW camps, torture for their faith. Some of my relatives had held the confidence of Popes. Today, one of my relatives remains one of the most senior catholic and jesuit theologians in the world.

Please help me return to a time when good was good, and evil was evil. Please help me go back to a time when every attack against the Catholic Church was a horrible lie- a heresy.

I am just a man. I do not claim or wish to be anything more. But I long for ignorance-when I had never read anything but the Bible.

Why did you leave the Faith? The Church has never left you.

Unfortunately the church is made up of humans, no large organizational despite its 'beliefs' will ever be completely infallible, moral or just.

Through out its history the church has certainly had many bad, immoral, power hungry, or just misguided people within it as well as leading it.

Also, back in the middle ages, becoming a member of the church was one of the best positions you could get if you were not a member of a royal family. They had power, they were wealthy, and they lived good lives in comparison to the average people of the day. I'm sure this drove many people who were not otherwise interested in truly doing God's work to seek a place in the church.

Presently members of the Church dont hold much power or earn that great of a living, but you still have people who join, not because they want to serve god, but because it allows them to easier fulfill their own sick unholy desires. Namely child molestation and sexual abuse.

These are some of the reasons that although I personally am a strong Christian, Im not a huge fan of the Church.

Well, the Scriptures tell us that many will fall away and be deceived. That they will have itching ears and surround themselves with false teachers. They will believe the ravenous wolves whose goal is to separate them from Christ's Church.

The facts are that the Church founded by Christ and the apostles is the enduring Church. It is the Church that has received all the promises recorded in Scriptures. It is the "bulwark and ground of the truth" that the gates of hell can never prevail against. It is the Church that Christ said He would be with until the end of time.

It is the church that Satan would like to prevent mankind from knowing and hide from mankind the knowledge faith and practice that resides in the Church. to do so Satan propagates lies deceit and confusion about the Church to attack the Church's testimony. I am sorry that you are one of those so deceived and will pray for your enlightenment and return home to His Church.

In Christ

I am protestant, just putting that out there--I don't really know what I'd fall under, but I jokingly call myself a Presbystinian. You are making the uber-common error of being unable to separate religion from God. You have been harmed by religion, and consequently you blame God. Even in the realm of the Roman Church, it was individuals who made it that way, not God. Two words: Martin Luther. Religion kills, and will continue. This is why Jesus spoke against the ultra-religous Pharisees so often, showing us what sotieriology truly is. Pray for guidance. God can hear.

You will find examples of corruption and evil in the history of the Catholic Church. You will also find corruption and evil in the history of any organization in which human beings are involved.

But at the same thime that there have been examples of catholic leaders that were corrupt, you have stated that "I grew up surrounding by priests, nuns, bishops and the very best examples of Catholic sancity and humility."

These are the people who have been examples of what the catholic Church can be.

Here is the reality, Jesus said to Peter that the gates of Hell would not prevail against His church, now by this Jesus meant that Hell would certainly go full out to destroy the church and this would include every type of action both without and even within, do we then hide and seek refuge? no we continue in the face of all adversity to be the church militant and stay united to the church suffering and the church triumphant, in the sure confidence and knowledge that Christ as the head of the church will never allow it to be defeated.
There is one Bread, one Body one Lord of all,one cup of blessing which we bless, and we though many throughout the Earth we are one body in this one Lord.

You cannot see Christianity by thinking that the Roman Catholic church is the church.

Swedenborg's theology states that the Catholic Church was at a definite end when they split the trinity into three divine persons from eternity.

Actually, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person

Pray God may lead you to know truth, I read too much about the history of the Vatican, nearly nothing has changed.
Since the wrong canons alongside with false doctrines as purgatory made can't be deleted. I encourage you to meet a Baptist pastor in your area to explain for you the way to have salvation.
You can check the link below to know why should you leave the Catholic Church and became a Baptist believer as me,

At this point in time - right now - you are inclined to believe perceptions, not reality. I know this because you said so yourself in "long(ing) for ignorance". If it is ignorance you seek, you've found it.

You must forsake perception for Reality. Put another way, you must forsake ingorance for Truth.

God is Reality. To be in touch with God is to be in touch with reality. To live in ignorance of Reality (God), is to be out of touch with Reality.

A good working definition of insanity is "to be out of touch with Reality". I don't think that's what you want.

What you really want it peace. You will not find peace in ignorance. You will find peace in Jesus.

You can't hide from the past, but you can better the present. No faction of humanity is without evil in its past. Our founding fathers had slaves. The Muslims have had radical fundamentalist suicide bombers. The US used to rely on child labor. It isn't the past that matters, but what we learn from our mistakes and how we address the future.
