Well, i'd say they should be confirmed when they're actually spiritually ready. But to give an actual age....um.....i'd say about 15, roughly.

Catholic School attendee here! I was "confirmed" at 12. However, I had NO idea that in order to be saved I must realize I'm a terrible person and trust in Christ's meritorious works on Calvary. All I ever heard was "good boy, good boy... etc." Man, am I glad I didn't die when I was 12 or 13! I'd be in hell for sure. Luckily, God grabbed me, while still lost in my sin and directed me to a good Bible believing church! I may have never known my wickedness... that I TRULY deserve death and that Christ took it in my place; and that I can receive the very righteousness of Christ by FAITH ALONE! Hallelujah!

The approved age is 11yrs old but in some can be confirmed at 10yrs under certain circumstances.
I was confirmed at earlier age than this at 8yrs old and took the name Gerard after St,Gerard Majella.
Basically it is up to the ordinary(Bishop) of the diocese and how certain conditions are met.

Okay...this must be another sacrament that has yet to be given one age by the Pope. I was confirmed when I was a junior in high school (age 17).

They are confirmed at the "age of reason", so with most children it depends on when they actually understand the difference between right and wrong and that they are responsible for their sins.
