You've noticed that too? I've been meaning to ask why religion turns people into such nutbunnies. I wouldn't call them on the border, it's more like 'in the heartland'. It even seems to have a similar effect on many nonbelievers. Love it or hate it, the whole topic is enough to drive a person total whackozoidal. If you don't believe this, please check around this website and you will notice that the other topics do not attract anywhere near the number of goofy, ignorant and belligerant comments as this area does.

They seem crazy to you because the world is wicked and the "norm" is wicked. But, when light comes near it seems strange and weird and somehow people's natural reaction is to rebel against it. Do you honestly think that people thought the prophets were in their right state of mind or "normal" No they thought they were freaks of nature, weird etc... and because people whether they want to admit it or not, they fear what they don't know and then they go to the next stage which is hate what they don't know. They resort to mockery, hate, logic etc...
Have a great day! Just remember this is truth! They even killed Jesus for this very reason!

Fanatics, maybe. Fanatism, of any possible kind, is blind. When you let yourself to become a fanatic, you're not using your common sense, so you can find "whackadoos" in religion, sports, politics, way fo life, personal opinions,...etc., you name it!

Using the placebo of religion will drive anyone insane being as it is, completely void of logic.

That's why they are - as you say - whackadoo!

It takes a whackadoo to believe in talking serpents, zombies, floating axes and all the other silly nonsense that those people believe in.

Because most of the "whackadoo"s have forgotten the point. Please don't judge us all by the whackadoos haha.

What gives you that impression?

Many are very passionate about expressing their religious convictions, I don't think that makes them wacky.

Many nonreligious people, especially those who are so adamant regarding their lack of belief are equally as passionate in their remarks.

Well, that is a matter of personal opinion, and an insulting one. Why do you have to ask such a thing? If you don't like someone, just walk away. To insult them just demeans yourself and makes you look bad.

Maybe religious ones. But I don't consider myself religious, just Christian.
