Since she is 10 months of age, this is likely her first heat cycle. It is very common for bitches to develop an enormous vulva during their heat cycle. It is also rather common for them to toilet more frequently than usual, but usually it is urination--not necessarily passing of stool. When girls in season pass a larger than normal volume of stool, it is usually an indication of emotional stress. Some of my toy dogs get very histrionic during their heat cycles to the point that they are hardly bearable and seek out more comfort time from me than usual. This is not the time to start giving any new foods or change the meal preparation in any way because changes do bring on stress diahrea at this time.

At this time I would take her to the vet for a quick check up and bring a stool sample along. I would not be surprised to hear that she has worms. Boxers tend to get small bald spots on occassion, but your vet may check it for ringworm.

The two symptoms, however, have nothing to do with one another--other than they are both taking place during her heat cycle. You just need to get her checked out.

Is she around any other dogs? They could be chewing on her neck trying to mount her. Females do this too not just males. She will urinate & stool frequently & insist on cleaning herself A LOT. She is stressing out over this new change. This is her first heat so don't be suprised when her tit's start to swell after she has finished her cycle. Get her in to be spayed or at least get the appointment set. You can have a full panel blood test run if you are worried about any health problems. I have never heard of a dog's immune system shutting down just because she is in season.

The three things are probably not related. Heat might cause her to go to the bathroom simply because she feels the swelling and is trying to get rid of it the only way she knows to do it. Or maybe she just needs wormed?

The lost hair could actually be from male dogs biting her neck or possibly from her just scratching.

Immune problems manifest themselves as repeated infections not as bowel symptoms.

No a heat will not cause the immune system to shut down. I think a call to your vet is in order. There may be something else going on.

No, estrus does not cause the immune system to shut down. If the dog is loosing hair and having odd stools, you need to make a trip to vet sooner rather than later.

There is no connection. She needs to see a vet and get a complete blood work up. There is something else going on here. She should not be bred NOR should she be put under anesthesia for spaying right now. She needs to be healthy for that. Make sure she does not get bred. See a vet and get her well then spay her.
Has she had any vaccines recently? This can and does cause the immune system to become weak.

Take you dog to the vet. Being in heat does not cause anything to happen to her immune system. There's obviously something else going on. Also, I strongly suggest you have her spayed.

I have 3 Boxers. When my oldest one was in heat and got pregant. We thought she was going to die! Her eyes drooped, had no energy. She did go #2 though. As far as losing hair, I dont recall that happening to her. There are websites that you can look up about the breed. I would call your vet.
