I currently have an Acoustic Solutions Home Cinema system. Unfortunately the active sub has stopped working. The speakers are all fine, but what do I need to turn this into a home cinema system again, as all I have really is a lot of speaker cable that doesn't fit anywhere!

If my "Active Subwoofer" (everything is inside the sub...amp, av receiver etc) has stopped working, what do I need to buy, is it just an amp, or a sub, or what?

Another active sub will get you out of trouble, but home systems are dropping in price all the time, so perhaps you could add a little extra and get an all new system? In the meantime, go into the amp settings and turn the subwoofer off. It won't sound as good as with it, but your other 5 speakers will still play some of the missing sound.
Good luck!

This is the big problem with cheap 'all-in-one' systems like the one you have. Once the sub/amp/receiver packs up, the entire system is useless.

The best bet is to buy another system, with a separate sub-woofer and A/V receiver. Don't go for something cheap 'n' nasty this time - spend a few quid for something that sounds good and is reliable.

Try asking again, please. The way this is written, I don't see how anyone could answer it.
