I know people usually cut to deal with some sort of emotional stress or to take out anger on themselves but otherwise, do cutters like to feel pain?

The cutters who do it for attention make no attempt to hide teeny tiny scratches. Some cutters are comfortable enough to wear t-shirts despite scars & cuts, which is really great. When You cut, your ashamed. Your scars are ugly. Your cuts must be hidden.

By focusing on the physical pain, you can get a release. It distracts you from emotional pain, and emotional pain is horrid.

When you cut. endorphins get released into your brain, lessening the extent of pain you may feel.

Generally, it hurts. It hurts like hell. Everything does.

Some cutters like pain but some cutters dont. Its not usually about if they like pain or not. Its what the cutting does for them or what they think it does for them.
Some examples are when a borderline feels nothing at all she wants to feel something so she cuts herself. She may not like the pain but at least its feeling something.
Some do it for punishment.
Some do it because they are hurting so bad inside that they want to get it on the outside.

Sometimes the cutter is numbed out so when they cut they finally feel something and feel alive. Seeing the blood is the release and then they get high. I have cut in the past and it is due to such a high level of stress and there is no where for it to go.

Apparently they do. That's very sad because when you reach a point in where you enjoy the pain of cutting yourself you need professional help.
