It is like putting a loaded gun in bed with an infant, and giving him the free will to pull the trigger, and then blaming the infant for any resulting injuries. Pathetic, if you ask me.

Sure sounds like it to me. Though frankly, when you consider the story in its entirety, like many of the Old Testament parables it's so fairy-tailish that it seems clear (at least to me) that it was never intended to be taken literally and has probably evolved with each retelling.

The story of Adam and Eve, the serpent and the forbidden fruit is a Near Eastern myth picked up by Jewish writers after the Babylonian exile. Adam in Hebrew means man. What is important in the story is the fact that man had a falling out with God. How this happened precisely we do not know. We can conclude, however, that Satan was the cause of this falling out.

Peace and every blessing!

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was the Serpent Satan. Serpent is JUST ANOTHER name for him. Eve DID NOT eat an Apple as I have heard it seems like forever. There is so much Spiritual Ignorance it is a shame anymore. It abounds in the Pulpits in today's Churches being taught by Spiritual Ignorant and Spiritual Blind so-called teachers. Judgment BEGINS at the House of God, and WOE to the ones who lead Gods Children astray. HOWEVER it is their DUTY to go where they WILL be fed the Truth, BUT another drawback to that is they are Spiritually Ignorant ALSO and do not KNOW the Truth FROM a Lie. Pitiful, pitiful indeed

Priests today offer young boys many temptations.

I'm sure Catholics blame this on Satan as well.

He has given directions to Adam &Eve. They have to follow the directions but were enticed by the forbidden fruit. When you ask children not to do certain things, they will be more eager to do the forbidden things. Hence it is not God's fault.

To provide His children with free will, God gave the option of NOT following His commandments (hence the existence of evil). Fortunately for us, God did not feel compelled to create puppets. Rather, he imbued His creation (mankind) with FREEDOM. Free will is not "free". It comes at a very high price, indeed.
