The serial number should be on a sticker on the back of the CD case. If you've lost the case but have a legal copy of Photoshop and have the disc, call Adobe. They may be able to generate a new number for you (although they may not since it's an older version, but it can't hurt to try).

If you're using pirated software, be aware that this is illegal and if you're caught you could be fined up to $150,000.00. There are free, legal alternatives like Gimp, Paint.net, Irfanview and Picasa2.

That means it isn't really your copy, right? In a copy you buy from the store or online, your serial will be prominently displayed somewhere among the things they mailed you. If you limewired your copy or got it from a friend, good luck. There are something like 100,000,000 more variations than for a power-ball drawing.

That is the serial number you are given when you purchase it and obviously you haven't purchased it, with real money, therefore you don't have one.
You can ask around on sites for an old serial number but chances are they probably wont work and it's illegal to do so. =]
