There is a vast difference between faith and man made dogma! I am Catholic. I don't follow every rule that the Pope states. But faith is something that no set of rules can ruin if you let it. Being Catholic (even with the sexist politics) many females are looked up to like Mary and countless other Saints. Being Catholic we base our faith less on the Bible than with most other Christians. But hey, times change and we can help change things. Faith and religion are two seperate things. I can have my faith and still think the Pope is a blockhead!!
Oh, by the way, the Catholic Bible includes many sections that the King James version leaves out...including the Book of Judith. Judith is a strong female role model. Oxford offers Study Bibles that also have what the good old boys left out. Take a look! The book of Judith is used in the Jewish faith as well. I found an interesting link for you.

Kindly point out to me where in the Bible all women are condemned, and considered to be inferior to men, and then I'll be able to answer your question.
Usually the passages that people use to "prove" that Christianity is sexist are NOT sexist in the least bit.

God may have created man and woman equal, but then he made Adam, the worlds first shauvanistic pig...when Eve gives birth (clearly the woman has the worse end of this deal) he says this: "With God's help, I have brought forth a son!"
What? Apart from the sex, what did he do?
From then on, women have been treated inferior...and woman believe the Bible because they either believe that or they convince themselves that they not like that.

Women in the U.S. didn't have the right to vote until 1920; so why would women believe in democracy? Did the definition of democracy change in 1920 or was it our understanding of it that changed?
In Jesus time, the interactions he had with women were astounding and scandalous. He was forcing the envelope to be wider.
It is our God given duty to eliminate injustice. The Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), founded in 1874, became an important force in the fight for woman suffrage.
We're all blinded by our society norms and our own vested interests. Women as well as men considered slavery as acceptable under "all men are created equal".
It is not Christianity that created or approved sexism or slavery, it is our own vested interests that created a blindness to the proper application of "love your neighbor as yourself".

some sects/paths do have lady clergy. various Christian paths have lady leaders besides. i don't love how a number of the YHWH followers take care of ladies people, yet we actually can not declare that "all" of any of them are sexist. that's a lie and makes the entire argument look quite suspect. Edit: There are also lady clergymen and bishops contained in the Church of britain and Episcopalians have had lady clergymen in some elements because the mid-1800's. So there ya pass. Like I reported, no longer all of them do have sexist regulations. I basically were given too aggravated to maintain questioning my lady clergy acquaintance about who has lady clergymen and who does no longer. She were given very enthusiastic about me asking as she curiously took my question as a demonstration of me desirous to remodel and enter the priesthood. *sigh*

But here's the paradox, women who live in cultures which have been historically influenced by Christianity are the most liberated on the planet. Read: "Theology and Social Theory" by John Milbank.

i dont know about most women all I can speak for is myself.....the sexism you refer to is nothing in comparison to the rewards and benefits of Gods love...I believe in Christianity because I believe that God loves women as he loves all of his children...and that he has lots of love for women. Men maybe the primary but women are also discussed in the bible as being the people that men are responsible for taking care of.....Its not to me , about gender it is about love. God loves all his children... I hope that my view helps you a little bit, but it is just my opinion....others have their own.

I don't think it does. There was Deborah, the prophetess who God chose because the men weren't willing to stand and be counted. Rahab the prostitute who was honoured for her courage. There's Ruth, Hannah, Mary, Martha, the woman at the well who Jesus spoke to (in spite of the disciples disapproval!). You should take another look!

Not all women are christian.
But in many religions it is that way and many have changed views on that subject although most religions that are very devoted to their beliefs still believe that women are not equal.
For myself I don't believe that women in my religion are inferior to men.
